Well Maintained Honda Goldwing Aspencade Special Edition GL1100A Before we get into it, I need to clear up some confusion I had when I bought this bike. It IS a 1983 model Special Edition GL1100A GoldWing Aspencade, An extremely limited production, manufactured in later 82. Therefore, Titled as a 1982. The most obvious change other than going to electronics, is the upgraded tire and wheel package. Honda went from a smaller 5 spoke comstar riveted wheel set to larger, solid cast 11 spoke wheels and better tires. Front size went from 100/90 17 to 120/90 18 and together with the select trac fork adjustment anti-dive system, offered a much better ride as well as stability on hard breaking. This bike is in Remarkable Condition with everything fully operational. I've had many comments on the bike from other GoldWing riders, saying if they didn't know better, they'd say the bike looks new. This is NOT a worn, tattered bike, pulled out of the barn or neighbors back yard, or neglected as so many are found. It has been lightly ridden and meticulously maintained. This can all be scene in pictures. Garage kept and covered. Less than 35,000 UNMOLESTED-UN RESTORED, ORIGINAL MILES.Before I found this bike I looked around about 6 months, from Syracuse to Atlanta and points between, finding it in my own back yard outside Knoxville TN. Rust Free and needing nothing....I must have looked at 25 to 30 Wings, all needing something, from rebuilt carbs to full restorations, mostly old worn out rides. (This wasn't all at once). I bought the bike about 6 months ago from the original owners family, with intentions to keep and ride on cross country trips and longer tour rides. I normally ride old CB750k's and Triumphs around the Smoky mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina and really needed something for the long runs. I just finished up a 2,500 mile rounder to New Orleans via the Natchez Trace with the bike and it was flawless. The Goldwing Ran perfect with not even a hick-up. I was really surprised at how many miles I could put on in comfort without having to take stops other than fuel. However, kids just getting back to college and costs are killing me already, so I need to sell. This Aspencade Special Edition model has numerous upgrades and additional features. I'll try and list some, but study pictures because I'll miss a few. Just keep in mind I'm an old rider and not a photographer. Air suspension, front and rear with onboard compressor in working order with recent dryer service. Pressure adjustable for road conditions with digital read outs. Honda-Clarion Stereo system. The whole package, AM/FM Radio w hi-low bands, Cassette, CB, Intercom. All lock in place and are removable with key. Chrome, crash bars and lights surround this bike, super night visibility. No cager or trucker will miss seeing you. Wrapped in lighting, highly visible at night.One inch tubular steel-chromed engine, saddlebag and trunk guards protect in case of drops and slides. Additional chrome tie downs, luggage racks, side covers and guards on saddle bags and trunk with lighting. High intensity driving lights. Three separate controls for optional lighting. Chrome covers and protection for about everything, front break calipers, carburetor and plug-wire covers, cam, radiator grill, engine side-frame, break light, and timing belt cover set. Vent fins, fairing skirt...on n' on bla bla...There is more, can't remember everything, check pics closely.Both highway and passenger floorboards. Adjustable drivers backrest. Trailor hitch.Digital spedo, tach, gear, trip meters and radio readouts. Spedo and miles to kilometers. Over all, this GoldWing is a great example of a true Classic, Vintage Bike that turns heads everywhere it goes. An actual 9.5 on the scale. Other than some small cosmetic issues, it would be a show winner. (even comes with an original Deals Gap Dragon). Recent tires, battery and oil change. This bike can be ridden home after the auction. I'm located in Maryville, TN., 15 minutes south of Knoxville's McGee-Tyson Airport, so if you're flying in, no problem. About ten miles from Foothills Parkway and RT129, the start of the Dragon. You could have a great ride after pick up. If that wont work, I'll help with getting it ready for the shipper.The last bikes I sold on ebay were shipped and picked up here with no problems. Two went to Dallas and Houston, and one, on to Europe. Costs to Texas was $475 to Big D and $575 Houston. These were early CB750's, and lighter bikes, so keep that in mind. The not so good news. Missing tool kit, owners manual and head sets from intercom system. Service manuel on CD-Rom. Thief at the Honda Hoot in 09 grabbed it all out of the trunk along with the Goldwing emblems from the sides of the trunk. Freakin A'.......all replaceable from ebay or bikebandit.comAlso, original owner replaced top cover on tank with another that also has air controls. Not hooked into system, not needed, but good to have an extra I guess.That about covers most of it. I'll add more if I've forgotten anything important. Easy fiberglass fix. This is the second listing for the bike. Just missed the reserve by $100. This time No Reserve. Need to sell, kids in college to dang expensive.
