Vehicle Detail

Pan on restoration. This beautiful car is a totally accident/rust free example...The pan, body and engine were manufactured in Aug of 1962 and then imported to the US as a 1963 model. I purchased this as a project from the previous owner who had spent tons of money but did not complete the project. The previous owner purchased it from the original owner who kept this car stored it in his basement after his wife died. The car was totally disassembled and painted in its original grey color. All doors, trunk, engine, windows, chrome, deck lid, interior were removed and the car painted inside and out (except for the front trunk and gas tank as the owner wanted to show that there was no color change). Four coats of enamel paint, color sanded, and then buffed to its current beautiful condition. At the time the owner pulled the engine that had only 40k original miles. All of the parts in the interior were completely disassembled and power coated. All new body rubber was done on the car, along with expensive replacement fenders. He also refurbished the brakes and all break lines, trans boots, complete new wireing harness, new bias ply tires with powercoated rims. This is where he lost interest and let it sit in his garage for about 4 years after spending thousands on parts and labor. I purchased the car and loaded it on a trailer and brought it home. I had the engine checked prior to installation. The mechanic replaced the clutch, generator, seals, etc...and this car does not leak a drop of oil. I had him also change the steering column rubber bushings, so the car drives straight and slow and stops well (remember drum brakes) You can see the front fender signals were not put on as many people like these off to make them look cleaner. i have the old signals so they can be put back on if needed. I then cleaned the non rusted pan and put a coat of bed liner and then carpet padding to halp make the car quiter before I installed the deluxe carpet kit. I then re covered all the seats and added new headliner and door panels. The car was also completly sound proofed prior to this. Check out youtube on this procedure as all the hign end restorers are doing this. The car also has a clean title. I just installed new bumpers from Wolfsburg West (that are not shown on these pictures. The engine starts like it is new and drives so nice (for a 50 year old car) I completed this this in a 4 month and thousands in parts and labor. As you can see from the pictures nothing in this car has been untouched. You could not buy a bug and make it this nice for less than my auction start price. I have asked for interesting trades but, if your trade offer is below the asking value please note that cash must accompany those offers. Please try to see this car in person or send an inspector and you will not be diasppointed. If the car does not sell I will wait till the spring and raise the price. I can also assist in shipping if needed, I have a truck and can meet 1/2 way with pre arranged conditions. The car is listed locally for sale/trade, so I reserve the right to end this listing early. If you have zero feedback, contact e first. Thanks for your interest and good luck, Thanks Robert
