1993 Ford Explorer XLT in great shape inside and out; very clean!! Up for sale is an older SUV that has been very well maintained. It appears to be a one owner vehicle - I have all of the registration receipts since 10/92 from the same person. The carfax shows a change of ownership in 1994, but I am not sure why. It looks like it has been kept by just one person - very clean inside and out (see pics). The leather is still in great shape - not all torn and cracked; the door panels are clean; the headliner is in great shape, and the carpet is in great shape as well. Mechanically, the engine runs very well and the transmission shifts great - no hesitation at all. All of the power options work and the A/C is cold. The tires still have plenty of wear and the brakes apply smoothly. The motor itself is very dry with the exception of the rear of the motor where it meets the transmission (appears to be a rear main seal leak). The transmission does have a leak as well at the front of the transmission. If you leave it overnight on concrete, you can see where it leaks some, but not bad - it's just an original Explorer with all of the original seals. The only thing mechanically to point out are the leaks - nothing else wrong with the vehicle at all! On a 93 model vehicle, to just have a couple of leaks with no other issues is unusual. Driving down the road, it feels tight and responsive. I was impressed driving the vehicle. It still has all of the original body panels. This is a southern, rust free vehicle! The carfax report shows a minor accident in 1994 (slight damage to rear of vehicle). Translation = scratch on bumper. Other than that, the carfax looks good and supports the mileage of 167,722. It is a 5 digit odometer, so it has rolled over one time. 6 digit odometers came out a year or so later. If you have any questions regarding this vehicle, please feel free to call at 706-583-9501.
