Vehicle Detail
This car has been in my family since 1976. My father bought this car for my grandmother in 1976, she drove it until she passed away in 1996. The car was then put in storage until 2010 and then was made road ready again. This car has always been stored in a garage. New Chrome. New Interior. New White Walls. No history of crash, frame damage,or rust. Its a great car, runs great.Car is beautiful inside and out. A must see. My name is Nicole and my phone number is ...314-220-2926 if you have further questions, you may also contact me by email for additional pictures. Serious inquires ONLY!!!! If you are one of these piece of crap individuals on here that is trying to buy a car with some concocted scheme......I strongly suggest for your benefit that you move on. The 1976 Caprice Classic marked the sixth and final year ofa body style introduced for the 1971 model year. 1976 models weighedapproximately 4,314 pounds (1,957 kg) and was 222.9 inches (5,660 mm) long, growing considerably from the 1971s 4,040 pounds (1,830 kg) and 216.8-inch(5,510 mm) length. Only minor changes were made for 1976, including an eggcrategrille similar to that of the 1976 Cadillac Calais/DeVille/Fleetwood flanked bynew rectangular headlights, along with revised exterior and interior trimmings.Engine options remained virtually unchanged with the 350 two-barrel remainedstandard in everywhere but California where the 350 four-barrel was standard. The only change was the 350 four-barrel was available in sedans and coupesnationwide and rated at 165 hp (123 kW). The dual exhaust equipped 454increased 10 hp (7.5 kW), rated at 225 hp (168 kW) and was still unavailable inCalifornia. Also available was the 180 horsepower (130 kW) four-barrel 400 V8standard on wagons and optional on all other models. This was the final yearfor the big block 454 V8 to be offered, along with hardtop body styles and theclamshell-tailgate design for the station wagon. The 1971 to 1976 models are the largest Chevrolets everbuilt. The Caprice was renamed Caprice Classic for the 1973 model year, but theCaprice nameplate returned—added in 1986 replacing the Impala For its girth, amazingly the car maintains crisp body linesand curvy sheet metal geometry giving depth and sleekness to an otherwiseaverage sedan. It’s as if the designer wanted to make sure even folks drivingfull-size cars looked cool. There is just something completely radical about the 4-doorhardtops when you roll all the windows down and have open space with no centerpillar that really catches the eye and defines the car as unique. That initself is probably what I appreciate most about this car – it represents theswagger in an era of car design were "daring" and "pushing thelimits" of engineering were the norm; not the exception.
