Vehicle Detail
First words, This classic will be sold AS IS WHERE IS. Purrchaser will have to make his or her own arrangements to transport the car. (there is a web site that transporters will bid to pick up and deliver). I have owned this car for years and it has been under restoration for the same amount of years. The following is what I have done. New floor and trunk. (cowling over fill pipe needs to be fabricated). New and complete brake system, new and complete exhaust system, new white wall tires (5) that have 42 miles on them. 90% of all chrome has been rechromed (7200.00). New front windshields and door windows, New gas tank sensor, gas tank has been repaired by local specialist, The front and back seats have been completely reupholstered, including the armrests, and corners where seats sit. I saved almost all the old parts, which will accompany the car. It will be full. It last ran 1 and 1/2 years ago, and it ran like a top with no blue smoke!! New 6 volt battery, carb, and rebuilt fuel pump. I am sure there is varnish in both. I know I am forgetting many more new things, oh yes all the door upholstery has been sewn (see pic). All that is needed is the waterproof masonite. I will be sending the headliner material (new). If you take a day and a half this car will purr. I have spent over 15,000 dollars on this car. It will have a 2000.00 reserve. Includes body parts pics and numbers, service manual. The newly chromed hubcaps (original) need to be painted. Comes with fender skirts and sun visor. AND GET THIS it comes with an original Packard Lap robe, that hangs on the back of the front seat. Car needs paint (see pic). Frame is in good shape. New shocks and front end alignment. I f you have any questions e-mail me. Please be advised, because I have done all the expensive work it should not be difficult to complete. Remember it is not a back seat, it is a bedroom! On Oct-02-12 at 06:21:25 PDT, seller added the following information:Answers, yes the emergency brake is new, all doors have zero sag, Packard trunks have a wrinkled finish, I planned on bringing it to a p-up bedliner co., and have it sprayed. It would have a wrinkled finish and be shiny and durable. Comes with Packard labeled jack. CAVEAT I could not figure how it is used.On Oct-04-12 at 15:37:18 PDT, seller added the following information:More answers, Yes there is a empty spot on the dash. It is for the radio, which I have and was replacing the tubes. Got static and think with antenna it will work. I am sending all replacement (new) tubes. #2 I am selling for health reasons. #3 Antiques come without title, I have already signed the registration and will enter winners name in assignment line. Heck even the clock works. On Oct-09-12 at 06:05:49 PDT, seller added the following information:Last answers, Yes I have clear title. I will send my bill of sale I received when I bought the car and I will send bill of sale along with registration transfer. I have driven this car. I am sorry, I thought I made the above clear. But remember, in Fla. and Ga., (I moved from ga. to here.) Antique cars do NOT have titles like new cars. The 10% of chrome left unfinished are the vent windows and two handles. This Packard Has been (since I have owned it) and will be, in a climate controled Garage until picked up. We have no problem with salt, but humidity can cause surface rust. And while on the subject, this car is very, very solid with only a bubble on the forward rockers. Although money is mundane, I was asked about it, 2400 for seats, they were stripped to the frame, dipped and sandblasted then painted then reupholstered, 4800 for floor and trunk, 7200 for chrome, about 2000 wasted dollars on hours to resolve not starting. (reciept included with car) turns out you can not start the car when overdrive is engaged. How I found out is to long to tell. I have underestimated everything, I am not some used car salesman or some slip and fall sue your neighbor lawyer! How much to finish? If you hire out everything and get a 5000 paint job who knows. If you don't mind a little dirt, and like to do things yourself, very reasonable. I would hire out the trim and paint.
