Vehicle Detail

I have owned this great muscle car for approximately 13 of its 41 years. I believe it is an original stock Florida car (I have been told by people at car shows that it was from the Jacksonville, Florida area), and since I have owned the car it has always been garaged or stored. This was the first year for AMC's Javelin AMX.The car is fully equipped and I believe completely optioned. The engine (that was rebuilt by a previous owner) is an "early" 401 c.i. (supposedly highest output) 4-barrel topped off with a super rare "Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner," the factory automatic transmission (that was rebuilt by a previous owner) is a Borg-Warner M-12 with console shift, the factory rear-end is a low ratio (I do not remember the exact ratio) geared posi-traction, close ratio power steering, power brakes, factory Air Conditioning, (very rare) rear window defrost (does not work) 18" Rallye wheels with nearly new tires. The car's interior is blue and includes velour front bucket seats and a rear bench seat, AM-FM 8-Track player in the dash, a remote multi-disc CD player mounted in the trunk, the dash and partial door panels are trimmed with machine turned aluminum, "Tic-Tac-Toc" gauges, and tilt steering wheel with "Rim Blow" horn. The car's exterior is a beautiful factory Electric Blue, repainted about 6 years ago by Rick Pittman of Lake City, Florida. It is equipped with a factory fiberglass Ram Air hood, and front & rear spoilers, and the car comes with the original Build Sheet that is brittle and hard to read due to age and fading, as well as many receipts, documents and pictures from former owners which were given to me by the man who I bought the car from 13 years ago. The car runs great with a deep throaty roar and I drive it less than 200 miles a year now, but it still gets a lot of attention since it is not your typical Mustang, Camaro, Vette, Charger, Cuda or Firebird . . . especially from those people who are under 40 years of age. This car has won many awards at orphan car club and Mopar car shows. I love this car but it is time to go to a good home. It is currently insured for $40,000 under an agreed-to-value insurance policy. Please look at the pictures carefully (last "winner" thought the car was a 2-seater) since the car is sold "as-is" without any form of expressed or implied warranty, promise or guarantee. I am not interested in any trades, and I have the car listed locally and reserve the right to sell the car locally and end the auction at anytime. Thank you. On Oct-08-12 at 09:12:27 PDT, seller added the following information: The odometer reflects the mileage to be about 55,000 (+/-), and it may be the actual mileage. In fact, some may say that based upon the car's very good condition and lack of wear, it may be the actual mileage, but I cannot represent that to be true or not. Again, when I bought the car it was about 28-30 years old, and since buying it, I have owned the car for about 13 years. All I can say is that I believe (a guessamation) that I have not put more than 3,500 miles on the car.
