This exception condition, low mile, one Florida owner 2012 Blizzard Pearl Prius Three with PLUS Performance Package and sunroof received minor styling changes for 2012, including revisions to the headlamps, front bumper and taillights.

Purchase of this Prius includes the balance of the full factory warranty valid through 3/11/2015 or 36,000 miles. Powertrain warranty is valid through 3/11/2017 or 60,000 miles. Hybrid Electrical Components are warrantied through 3/11/2020 or 100,000 miles.

On the outside, the Prius PLUS is dressed in a seven-piece ground effects kit that includes front and rear bumper spoilers, side skirts and a rear diffuser.

The hybrid model also gains 17-inch alloy wheels in a five-spoke design wrapped in low-profile 215/45R17 tires with a custom offset, which Toyota says increases the track width while “maintaining Prius’ low rolling resistance”.

Underneath the sheetmetal, the PLUS package adds a sports-tuned suspension with lowering springs (1.1 inches in the front and 1.3 inches in the rear) and a new rear sway bar constructed of high carbon spring steel.

Toyota calls its Prius an "Eco-Icon," and the latest generation should have plenty of available gadgets for technological and environmental die-hards.

Among them are a solar-panel moonroof that powers modest air conditioning in hot parking lots and LED headlights that use less energy than conventional halogen lamps.

Toyota's Entune multimedia system becomes available on Prius Three, Four and Five trims, and option package content is juggled. Entune provides three years of free service to a variety of applications and services available through smartphones using Bluetooth connectivity or a USB port, including Bing, iHeart Radio and Pandora. In addition, a new standard stereo has a 6.1-inch touch-screen and an integrated backup camera.

The dashboard has instruments mounted high atop the center portion, two glove compartments and a nublike shifter. The shifter itself sits close to knee level. The dash and doors have a matte-style finish, and the steering wheel has tilt and telescoping adjustments.

The steering wheel has touch-sensitive audio and climate controls that display a replica of the actual controls and highlight the driver's choices in the instrument display.

Toyota calls it Touch Tracer, claiming it helps drivers keep their eyes on the road. Other information on the display includes fuel and energy consumption meters, as well as a depiction of power flow between the drivetrain's gasoline and electric components.

The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine in the Prius is augmented by a number of high-efficiency tricks — among them an electric water pump, exhaust gas recovery, an efficient automatic transmission and optimized regenerative braking. Coupled with an electric motor, the drivetrain makes a total 134 horsepower.

Electric motor draws power from a trunk-mounted battery that recharges using braking friction.

Four driving modes: regular Drive; Eco mode, which optimizes settings for better mileage; Power mode, which increases gas-pedal sensitivity for better acceleration; and EV-Drive mode, which attempts to stay in electric mode as long as possible, provided the battery has enough juice.
