Vehicle Detail
CLASSIC 535i 1990-91 BMW. I purchased this car about a year ago with the thought of completely restoring the vehicle. I've put in more money than I'll get back, but someone who wants to fully restore this car to it's complete original/restoration look, has a very good start with this car. In the short year I've owned this car, I've put in new rotors/disk brakes, a new radiator, a new battery, a new starter, a complete new exhaust system (six months ago), and a complete new clutch (and had transmission cleaned out with new filters and fluids). I'll render all my repair receipts to the buyer. All the exterior lights and turn signals work, as do all the power windows, and power seats. All the seats have recently been reupholstered (I did not reconnect the heating eliments in the seats as I never use them, and they accelerate the aging process of the seat covers). The dashboard is in great shape, with no cuts, tears, or blisters. There is a burnt illuminating bulb in the dash behind the engine temperature gauge, and a burnt illuminating back light in the dash computer (I have a new one to replace it which comes with the car), the blower fan for the air conditioning and heater only runs on the higher speeds (fuses?). These are all simple and cheap fixes. I planned on fixing all of these items at once, when I next had the dashboard removed. The interior ceiling is not ripped or torn, but needs to be re-hung with adhesive spray near the back window. I've never tuned this car while I've owned it, and runs fine once warmed up. As far as I know the engine has not had any of the original gaskets or wires replaced. The bad thing, the water pump is the original, and is starting to leak and will need replaced. This car has four matching FALKEN 225 60R 16's, all season radials. The two in the rear are new with less than 3K miles. The front tires passed inspection, but are at about 50%+ tread. There is a full sized spare in the trunk (see pic.) with a the matching factory BMW 16" mag wheeel. The car is currently inspected (PA). The exterior paint is poor. The body is basically solid, but has a few minor issues to be addressed prior to painting. I had planned to have the paint job done last, once all the other little items needed on the car were all completed. The pictures make the exterior of the car look a little better than it actually appears in person. The pictures in this ad were all taken earlier today, just out of the car wash. The actual finish is a little sun baked and worn. A good paint job is needed and will completely finish this car's look. I'm telling you this in honesty so you're not upset with the winning bid. The interior is very good for the year and milage. There are no cracks or chips in the glass. I do have replacement BMW emblems for the trunk and hood, and a couple extra wheel centers, along with the original glovebox hand manuel (see pic.). I just recently bought another car and have lost the energy to complete this restoration. Due to the water pump going, I would highly recommend towing this home. 157,600 original miles is minimal for a near classic car almost 23 years old! Feel free to email me with any other questions: gkrgreen@aim.com Title free and clear and in hand. I also have a manufacturers repair manual for this series, which will come with the vehicle.
