1965 Ford Mustang 289 2V V8, Automatic, PS, PB Please read this completely before you place a bid, thank you! First this car does not have air conditioning, but has power steering and power drum brakes and has an automatic transmission. This car is a survivor, this is not a ground up restoration, it has always been a California desert car. It sports the original black and yellow plates issued in 1965 and 70000 actual miles according to 2nd owner ( I am 3rd owner). The car was stored for more than 25 years before I bought it. It has undergone a major amount of work, more than $9000 invested in the last 16 months alone. Financial issues are the only reason for the sale. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS!!! Here is some of what has been done: ENGINE rebuilt 289 2V Machine Shop work: Heads boiled out new freeze plugs installed 3 angle valve job with hardened seats to run unleaded gas, Block boiled out & bored to nearest oversize, new cam bearings and freeze plugs installed, connecting rods reconditioned, new pistons fitted to rods, crankshaft reground to nearest undersize. Parts list: New flat top pistons, rings, rod bearings, main bearings, camshaft, lifters, oil pump, timing chain and gears, water pump, fuel pump, and gaskets. New aluminum radiator. ELECTRICAL new: voltage regulator & battery, headlight switch, signal light switch, rebuilt: alternator, distributor, and starter. TUNE UP new: cap, rotor, points,condenser, wires and plugs. TRANSMISSION was rebuilt has new: torque converter, front pump, planetary gears , bands and clutches, filter, gaskets, and seals. EXHAUST New dual exhaust system from exhaust manifold back: Pipes, turbo mufflers, tips, and hanger brackets. STEERING & SUSPENSION new: upper ball joints and lower control arms with ball joints, rebuilt power steering pump, new return hose, rebuilt control valve, new rubber boots and bushings, 4 new shocks & motor mounts. BRAKES 4 drums turned or replaced with new, 4 new wheel cylinders, new brake shoes, 3 new rubber brake hoses, new master cylinder, new power booster. RUBBER all rubber parts replaced: window seals, trunk and door seals, hoses, wiper blades & belts, everything rubber has been replaced.. TIRES are BF GOODRICH 185 65 14( front) they have less than 500 miles on them, 215 70 14 (rear), they have less than 2000 miles on them. CHROME new: 1965 mustang styled steel wheels with red pony centers, chrome lug nuts & wheel locks, front & rear bumpers, V8 badges, antenna, outside quarter panel trim, door sill plates, gas cap, tail light assemblies, front parking light assemblies, outside door handles, inside door handles & window crank handles, all three rear view mirrors, matching ignition and door locks & trunk lock, instrument bezel, T-handle & floor indicator for shifter, and dash knobs & bezels. I have purchased new drip rail trim and it comes with the car it’s just not installed. INTERIOR new: 65 bright red interior (factory color); dash-pad, steering wheel, kick panels, top-liner, door panels, carpet, seat covers, seat belts & package tray, it still has original AM radio that works good with new dual cone front speaker,& new glove box. HEATER has been rebuilt new: ducts and hoses, heater core, and seals. TRUNK new: gas tank and sender unit, trunk mat and spare tire cover. BODY & PAINT the body was prepared and painted by a local body shop in the original color Wimbledon White. I am sure I have left out tons of small stuff, but as you can see I spared no expense, I wanted this car for my wife and I to drive and enjoy but I am unable now to keep it, so my loss is your gain.
