1991 Volkswagen Passat GL *NO RESERVE* This car has a lot of potential. The miles are original and the interior is in almost perfect condition. The dash has no cracks and the seats have no rips or tears. I bought this car from a man in his late 70s; the good from this is that the miles are very low, the bad is that the fuel sat for a long time in the car. I have done a lot of work to this car up to this point. I have replaced both fuel pumps, took out and cleaned the fuel tank. Put in a new set of injectors and I've put in two distributor units. The first one didn't work, the second one seems to be working. Currently, to start the car you have to spray starting fluid in it. Once it's started it runs well, the motor sounds like there are no mechanical problems. After it's been started and running, you can turn it off and start it back up again. I would guess that the cold start injector is not working. That should be an easy fix. I've only been able to drive the car around the block a few times; it seems to run smoothly. The shifter for the transmission needs a new shift knob. It has a CD player, but I don't have the face plate. The clear coat is peeling on the hood. I would suggest the car be towed for buyers who are across the country as I don't have enough experience with the car to know if it would or would not make it. Power windows and sunroof all work great. This car has tons of potential and will get great gas mileage once it has been given a little TLC. We are selling this car due to our landlord asking us to reduce our inventory, otherwise I would keep it, fix the minor problems it has before selling it. Please ask any questions.
