1968 XKE JAGUAR E-TYPE ROADSTER The car being offered is a Series 1 1/2 E-type roadster. . Like all Series 1 ½ roadsters it includes the enhanced comfort features that are not found on the earlier E-types; including but not limited to the more comfortable seats, the synchronized 4-speed transmission, and more foot room. The car only has 57,900 original miles. MECHANICAL OPS / ENGINE AREA Complete rebuild on engine, and many of the other mechanical ops within the last 7000 miles. The other mechanical components restored included the radiator, alternator, clutch, transmission, fan motors, water pump, Updated starter, updated electronic ignition, brakes, etc. – over $25K documented involving restoration of the running gear alone. Everything was removed from the engine area when the work was done; the engine area is very clean and complete including the underside of the bonnet. Functionally the car runs out very well, including all of the gauges . PAINT/EXTERIOR Older paint job but good condition – better than average. Car is an exciting sporty Ferrari yellow with a black interior( Original Paint Dark Blue). It does have a few minor dings and blemishes but overall it looks very good. The body is solid including bonnet, trunk and body panels. There is a little rust below the battery compartment from the battery overflow and underneath the trunk there is a small rust hole but nothing concerning. Door panels and trunk gaps are not perfect. Inner sills are strong and outer sills have small paint bubbles. A new foot-wells were installed . INTERIOR Most of the interior was completely redone at the time the car was restored, thus is in very good condition. Seats are customized (not original material) at that time. Some wear a the driver seat. Door panels,sill vinyl carpets, top Dash are new. Carpeted rear deck behind the seats is not original. Racing upgraded seat belts, upgraded Iphone radio, etc. Trunk area is carpeted and painted black. Trunk floor board is solid. CHROME Most of it is original but in good shape, including wire wheels. The bumpers and over-riders have a few small dings. The over-riders also have holes in them where something was mounted to them at one time – TIRES Good condition – Michelin redlines EXHAUST Good shape GLASS Original but in good shape TOP Looks new – excellent condition OTHER Includes a jack bag with wheel removal tools, spare wheel/tire and original boot cover APPRAISED VALUE Matching numbers car with Jaguar heritage certificate. Value somewhere in the mid to upper $30’s. Car is a very solid and complete; an excellent driver that can be enjoyed from day one.
