Vehicle Detail

I have a 1960 Ford F100 style side short bed truck that looks really cool. The color is old school beige that looks like the color of French vanilla ice cream. It’s been lowered and has a really nice stance and looks good with the tinted windows, moon shaped chrome hubcaps and the side exhaust pipes. It's no show truck but I get lots of looks and compliments wherever I go and you will too. Its registration is current and has been continuously registered, insured and driven. This is a truck that’s lived its entire life in southern California. The body has had some work but is straight and solid and the paint is good. There are no signs of rust beyond very small and superficial spots here and there. It has a Ford 302 V8 and a Ford 3 speed on the tree Metric transmission and I was told were rebuilt by the previous owner. I got this truck back in April as a partial trade for my 911 Porsche that I sold. The previous owner told me he had over $6000 invested in it. I thought this little truck might be a fun occasional ride but changed my mind because it’s not easy to drive and like all old things it will need some work. I think it would be a great truck for the right person and as much as I love it, I really don’t need it. I don't know what it's worth but I've included in the pictures a copy of the NADA value estimate as a reference. Just remember that 50 plus year old trucks don't depreciate as time goes on they appreciate. This auction has no reserve, so the highest bidder owns it. Please don’t hesitate to ask any question you might have. I’ll do my best to answer to the best of my knowledge. My phone number is 949-922-9232 It runs and drives but here is what I've come to know. The transmission does shift in all gears but it shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd a bit late and somewhat abruptly. I’m told it's not connected properly because it’s supposed to use manifold pressure to enable it to shift correctly. The motor sounds good and runs well at low RPM’s but runs loud and sounds rough at higher RPM’s. It does not have power steering or power brakes. The steering has a little play in it and I’m told it may be the steering box or the tie rod ends. I personally would swap it for a power steering system if I kept it to make it easier to drive. The brakes are drum all the way around and seem to work fine. The gauges seem to work intermittently but I’d assume they don’t work right. All the lights work fine. It is being sold in an AS IS condition.Check out this YouTube video that I shot of the truck. http://youtu.be/nlhzstZ_s2A If you’re mechanically inclined, I’m sure you can make it into a perfectly reliable daily driver with very little cost and effort. I'll do my best to help with possible shipping but I won't be doing any of the legwork for you.I will reserve the right to end this auction if the truck sells locally.
