1965 Pontiac Catalina 2+2 421 Sports Coupe NEW Vinyl Top! SPORT INTERIOR! 3 Speed! RARE ORIGINAL COLOR! Please read this carefully as there is a lot of information about this cars true potential to become a high end collectable muscle car. When I first saw this car, I fell in love and you will know why. I aquired it in a trade but I do not have the time to give this gem the attention it deserves. My first intention was to get it running, put a paint job on it and enjoy it however, it wasnt long until I discovered that this cars excellent condition and rare options deserve more. After looking over the car and realizing its true value I had only two possible solutions. 1st Option--> I discovered the engine block serial was not numbers matching so I would need to find an original 421 with a WG block code that I could combine with the original heads, intake and carburator and keep the car completely orignal with the three speed. -OR- 2nd Option--> I have a nice 455 Pontiac I was going to put in it and I also have a rare 4 Speed Munci Long Shaft for a Pontiac I was going to sister to it. The tranny is in great shape but also have a brand new "complete" rebuild kit and new clutch for the transmission. But after the responses I have had posting on the H.A.M.B http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=729808&highlight=1965+pontiac it seems leaving it original was looking to be the answer. So I have decided to post the car with the original components and the 455 and/or Potiac Munci Four Speed can be purchased separately if the new owner wants to go that route. This car is a remarkable survivor car, if not the "best survivor" I have ever seen. The positives outway the negatives 10 to 1. The photos of the floor board are accurate for the entire car. There is minor surface rust but no holes or heavy flaking that i can find on the entire car. Original 1965 421 Heads, Intake and Carburator Original 3 Speed Manual Transmission Factory Posi-Trac Rearend Low Milage Factory Stereo, Wiring, and Dash-Board have NOT been "hacked" Includes: New Mufflers, New Front and Rear Springs, Brake Master Cylinder, Brake Shoes, Hoses and New clutch Excellent 215/75-R15s on American Racing Rims New Vinyl Top and Headliner Immaculate factory Interior with buckets and floor shift Original spare tire and instructions are still in the trunk Also includes paperwork, manuals, model car and 1965 License Plate CON'S This engine looks identical to an orignal 421 however we discovered the short block was replaced with a Pontiac 350 but cylinder heads, intake and all accessories are the factory 421 originals. Right rear quarter panel has had minor body work. No signs of structual ,frame or rust damage. Drivers side butterfly window glass is missing BUT the frame opens and closes perfectly with the crank. This car will need weather stripping. Some assembly required This 47 year old GEM will be sold in "AS IS" condition please ask questions and dont be shy to ask for any further information.
