History: 1) Our car has a rebuilt 305 High Performance Engine with matching numbers that has almost 30,000 miles on it. The odometer shows 91,580 miles. The engine was rebuilt because a blown manafold gasket caused antifreeze to enter the engine that resulted in a a spun crankshaft bering. The block was not damaged, so the rebuilt involved replacement of 1 piston, 1 connecting rod, and a new crank shaft. 2) The transmission was rebuilt when my car had 89,000 miles on it simply because I wanted to avoid trouble down the road. 3) Rear spoiler cracked and had to be replaced. 4) New headliner when the old one began to sag. 5) Dual Stainless Steel exhaust installed for durability. 6) Repainted once when spoiler was replaced. 7) Tires have replacement R 215/65/15 Goodyear Eagle GT's with raised white letters. We became the 3rd owners of this car back in 1989. This RARE BLUE COLOR was only used on a limited number of Monte Carlos in the later part of 1983, 1984, and 1985 which makes it a great collector car. Also, the bench front seat with folding arm rest in this car was not used in many vehicles. The shifter is on the steering column. The heater runs great, but the air conditioner needs recharged, and the radio doesn't work. All the weatherstripping is original, and the doors shut nice and tight. The car is straight with no imperfections. We have the original paperwork and the owner's manual. It's inspected through April, 2013. We have taken really good care of this car , and NO SMOKERS have ever used this car. The car has been undercoated numerous times, and garage kept year round to prevent rust. It is a nice clean car that runs strong, looks great, good brakes, fun to drive, a head turner, and could be driven anywhere right now. We belong to the National Monte Carlo Owners Association, and this car has been a show winner various times in the Original Class for Monte Carlo SS's at their summer conventions. The large overstuffed TAZ that I showed in the one picture, has always sat in the driver's seat at car shows. TAZ goes with the car when it sells. The only reason we are selling this car is because we feel that we need to gradually start to down size. We will continue to drive the car during the time that it is listed for sale. Therefore, the odometer reading may register extra miles at the time of the sale. This car provides a great ride. It is hard to believe that this vehicle is almost 30 years old.
