1957 Studebaker Scotsman 2Dr This was the Studebaker’s “Plain Jane” car. Little if any chrome, bench seats, poverty dish hubcaps, drab colors etc. Because it was scaled down and so cheap, many were bought and ran like a rented mule. Very few are out there left in this condition. I’ve been to countless car shows and never seen another. This rare gem when completed, will be a head turner and a show winner with a restored, hotrod, or gasser look…….your choice. The sky is the limit for car. Exterior-This is a very solid/straight hot rod/gasser, project car. The exterior rust is primarily surface rust with the exception of needing new headlight bezels. Some small rust holes have formed on the bottom of each front fender, but other than that, the body is in nice shape. Comes with a complete set of stock “poverty” dish hub caps. Interior-The seats are shot, but the original frames and springs are in good shape. There are small rust holes in the floor. New floor pans will be needed. Trunk floors however are solid. Gauges , passanger side glass and rear glass are missing. ENGINE-6 Cylinder “L Head” engine, 185 CID. From the factory this engine was suppose to get 18-20 mpg. Engine is complete and turns freely. I have never tried to start the car. PARTS-I have a friend (70 miles from cars location) that has a complete Scotsman 4 Door (minus the engine) he will sell for scrap weight if parts are needed. This Studebaker will be sold at NO RESERVE. I would love to build a gasser out of this old girl, but I need the money to finish a couple other projects. My loss is your gain.
