Vehicle Detail
This is my BAD ASS 37 ford truck. Rat Rod, Traditional ride, whatever you wanna call it. I call it kick ass fun. I swore i would never sell this thing, but after many years of mobile home dwelling, my wife and me, and our two kids built a house. Two and a half years later, but no loans or mortgage, we finally moved in. But we still need a few things (like appliances!) and we maxed out the lowes card building the place, so somethings gotta give. 'Nuff of my sob story, lets talk about this truck! First off, this thing is SO DAMN FUN! We have two other rides, a 42 ford with all the good stuff (A/C, Power steering, ect) and a 56 Buick with gorgeous paint, but when its car show time THIS is the one the wife and i rock, paper, scizors for.(The other two have too much family history and will be our kids rides later in life, cant sell em). Stopping for gas will make you think your a rock star. Everyone LOVES this thing. Old, young, guy, girl. Speaking of girls, i dont know why, but they flock to this ride. No lie, they will risk rust stains on thier favorite dress for a ride. So about the truck.... I wish i could say i built this one, but no. It was built by Jeff Royball with some help from me and other members of Sled Hedz CC Las Cruces. He built it to drive. But, allas, he is a builder first, driver second, so he sold it to me to fund the next one. He had it for a year and i have had it for two, so its been on the road three years. Its registered and insured and DRIVEN. I drive it to work often, i work 45 miles from home, so 90 mile roundtrip. Its only left me road side one time, when the fan belt busted. My wife is a high school teacher (and damn hot, i might add) and she drives it to school as much as she can. The students love it. The Male staff loves it. The female staff?? They love it, but they won't admit it. Haters. lol! Since i got it all i changed is the tires and added a So-Cal steering damper. Yeah, the old bias ply tires looked sweet, but it was all over the road. We tried balancing and on car balancing and blah blah, but i gotta haul ass. So i put new tires, did the shaved whitewall thing, now i can haul ass. The engine is a early 90's 305 chevy. It has an Edelbrock carb, HEI, finned valve covers, and zoomies. Its got highway gears. Its fast enough to be scary, but you wont win any burnout contest. It sits a half inch off the ground with the bags down. About seven inches with the bags up. Speed bumps and Sonic driveways are no problem. It doesnt get hot. It has an electric fan with a switch in the cab for parades or heavy trafic on a hot day. It has gauges for water temp, oil preasure, and amps. I will include the set of auto meter "5 gauge set" gauges and senders i was gonna put in "someday". Its basic. No side glass. No heater. It does have a seatbelt in the midle. My son rides in it in his booster seat. The zoomies have 8" baffles. They are removable, if you feel the need to be REALLY LOUD. Classic buick drums up front. Split Bones. Includes new friction shocks for the front, need to be installed. The front tires have a rythmic bounce at about 50 mph that i just power through, it goes away at about 55. Shocks should fix that, but i never got around to installing them. Oh, SIZE. My wife is 5'4, 120, and drives it all the time. Im 5'11, 265, and i fit ok, but i do have to slump a bit at stoplights to see the lights, cuz of the radical chop and all. If you are over 6 foot this may not be for you. Yes, you COULD drive it home, but if your more than a few hundred miles, i wouldn't. The car will make it, you wont. Its loud. Its crowded. It has no radio. WATCH THE VIDEOS! Two of these pics were taken by Adam Avenue Tellez, a published and highly recomended photographer in El Paso Tx. Also, the hot chick with the '56 buick is my wife. Niether one is for sale. I just put it on to prove that my wife is hot, in case you thought i was full of crap. ASK QUESTIONS! FOR SALE LOCALY. PICK IT UP OR SEND A SHIPPER. WILL ASSIST WHERE I CAN FOR SHIPPING. $500 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT VIA PAY PAL, REST IN CASH, CASHIERS CHECK, OR BANK TRANSFER. NO GAMES. IM NOT NEW AT THIS. CHECK MY FEEDBACK!! I HAVE SOLD PLENTY OF HIGH $$$ STUFF AND NEVER SCREWED ANYONE. YEAH ME! :-) Call me if you need too 575-202-2122 but between 5 and 9 pm mountain is best, if im at work i wont have my phone. Yes it has clear papers, in my name, state of New Mexico, matching the frame (1942 ford). Numbers on frame are also stamped on door jamb on drivers side. I had NO problems insuring it. Its insured through Hagerty, purchased through my local Farmers agent, as a specialty vehicle, for 15k. It cost me $189 every six months. The auction includes a 5 gauge set of gauges with senders, and a set of friction shocks. I will try and get photos uploaded of those items. It has tail and brake lights ,but no signals. If i can find it i will throw in the vintage column mount blinker gadget. I kinda like hand signals... feels like throwing the bird. Headlights work fine. Has a cigerete lighter. lol, so you can charge yer phone and to run the portable compressor if you run the tank out of air. Engine does not have centerbolt covers (good observation). The guy who built it told me its a 305, and when the starter went out, the one that matched it was for a 91 chevy car with a 305. So im sure at least the block is early 90's 305. Jeff said it was in a boat when he got it, so i dont know the history, but an educated guess is that is was throtle body injection and when the converted to edelbrock carb they used older heads so they could use the edelbrock manifold thats on it now. All i can say is it starts and runs fine, it doesnt smoke or overheat, and it sounds faster than it is. Any more questions, ask em and i will answer best i can. Thanks! On Aug-18-12 at 12:52:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Just added pics of gauges, blinkers, and shocks for the front. Gauges are new, never installed, but i got them cheap because they are badly shelf worn. When i tried to pollish them, the gold came right off , leaving them silver. So the got set aside for this truck. Figured to ruff them up a bit. LOL. All senders included, even the pulse generator for the speedo. Also, NO TRADES PLEASE. Only selling cuz i need the cash. Sorry to the guy who asked the wheel base. Forgot to take a tape with me. Will get that tonight. Thanks!
