Vehicle Detail
Excellent fun commuter car. Over $10,000 invested in last 3 years, replacing transmission, many engine components, tires, suspension, etc. Very minor "door dings" and faint scratches. Excellent condition car inside & out - EXCEPT that it needs a new water pump. That is why I'm selling it. The estimates I've obtained are around $1,200 to replace water pump, which also will replace the timing belt (which was already replaced 2 years ago). So, I've significantly decreased the selling price to accommodate fixing this item. Overall, this is an excellent car, that is fun to drive & very comfortable and quiet. For the last 6 years I've only driven it 33 miles each way commuting to work, not traffic on the freeway (I go the opposite direction to traffic). I want to buy a brand new vehicle, so I've decided to not fix the water pump, and just move on.On Aug-14-12 at 19:17:23 PDT, seller added the following information: A few people have asked: "What does excellent condition mean?" for the body and interior. It means that compared to the typical VW Jetta like this out there, this is very clean, has fewer scratches, has better/shinier looking paint, has cleaner tear-free upholstery, better tires, etc. However, it is a pre-owned vehicle, so it does have some minor scratches, etc. After you've examined the pictures, if you would like more detailed pictures, feel free to send me a message, and I'll do what I can to get you the details you need. Thanks! On Aug-15-12 at 21:31:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Some people who have viewed this vehicle in person have asked if it had ever been in an accident when they see (if they look VERY hard for it) some very minor bodywork done on the passenger front fender. As I've said on the basic description, while I've owned it, it has never been in an accident. If I stretch my imagination, I'd describe that once, with my other car, I started to back into this car, and caused a small crease in the passenger side front fender, which I then had fixed at a body shop (resulting in what I've described above). Do you call that an accident? I don't. BTW, in the spirit of full disclosure, over the last 3 months (including some time before the water pump issue came up) I've put on an additonal approx. 3,000 miles, so its up to about 135k now - just so you know. HOWEVER, it is NOT being driven now (due to the water pump issue). On Aug-17-12 at 22:51:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Since the current bid (Aug 17, for $1925) is where it is at, I've decided that I'll throw in having the car detailed out by the local hand car wash and a full tank of gas if the actual price it sells for is over $2,100.On Aug-19-12 at 12:51:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to confirm for all of you watching this vehicle, since the bid is over $2,100, then as long as the buyer actually purchases this vehicle for the final bid price (that would be over $2,100) then I will detail out this car and give it a full tank of gas upon delivery - you can count on that occuring now. :)
