Up for auction is a very nice 1964 Ford Falcon Futura Convertable with 89,850 original miles. It is a completely stock, all factory car, with the exception of a added front sway bar . It has a 6cyl 170 hp motor, 1 barrel carb , 2spd Fordomatic auto trans and 3:50 rear end, non power steering. All exterior sheet metal is original,floors, trunk, framework, torques boxes, etc are all in very good condition. I was told it had one repaint approx 15 years ago,it does have some chips and two very small bubble spots(see pics) also paint is blemished by rear trunk on qtr, could not get it to pick up in pictures, and there is no rust from top to bottom to speak of. Stainless and chrome is original and in good condition, exterior door handles, convertable top wrap by trunk lid and interior pillar post chrome does have checking marks. The Falcon retains its original red interior, except carpet and convertable top boot was replaced( I do have original top boot) front and rear seat belts were also added for safety. It looks like the black vinyl top and rear zip out window are new and were replaced, all power convertable top and frame work is in good condition. The glass is all nice, window felts look original, all rubber seals look to have been replaced. Car has factory A/C that needs one line from compressor to condenser replaced then recharge system. All the other componets of the A/C system work fine, heat and defroster work good. The electrical of the car is all in working order( high beams and indicator light,running lites, turn signals,AM radio,wipers,trunk lite,under dash lites,and glove box lite,etc.) Only non working electrical know of is horn, but it does click, and ciq lighter. The gauges all work to include the speedo,gas and temp gauges. Tires on the car are bias ply D78-13 with hub caps and steel wheels,tires have 90% tread left. The convertable starts, runs ,brakes, and drives very nice, my wife loved driving it around town, and has never seen snow or rain that we were told of from previous owner. The motor has cast date of 4 B 27 which means 1964 Feb 27th and motor tag has 170 64 2 over 4D 6 A. Door tag reads as follows: VIN: 4H15U201862, Body: 76A (Conv Futura 4) , Color: K (Silver Smoke Gray), Trim: 65 (Red), Date: 24D (April 24th), DSO: 55(St Louis), Axle: 5 ( 3:50-1), Transmission 3 (2sp Fordomatic).
