You are bidding on a 1981 Delorean DMC-12 Stainless Steel exterior over gray leather interior and 5 speed manual transmission. This is a good original, low mileage and low owner Delorean that you would be proud to take to any local show. This particular Delorean is like most, in that they spend a considerable amount of time over the years not being regularly driven. As a result, they require from time to time the necessary service to get them back up and running again and ready for the road. This car, along with all of the recommended factory updates, has had that necessary service. The Delorean is in very good overall condition as can be seen by the photos. The exterior of the car (stainless, painted bumpers, glass, louvres) are all in good condition showing usual wear. The interior of the car (seats, cockpit, carpet, door panels and dash) are all in good original condition and showing normal wear. About the only thing specific to mention is the binnacle, which has unfortunately cracked over time like most of them have. The rest of the dash is fine. Mechanically the car runs and drives out very well. Starts easily, idles great and sounds very nice. Clutch, transmission and brakes are all working exactly as they should. It has recently had a complete service to include oil, filter, plugs, fuel filter and injectors cleaned. Fuel sending unit needs replacing (out of stock at DMC or would have been replaced already) and AC will certainly need charging. All 4 wheels have a flawless finish and are riding on brand new correct sized (235/60/15 and 195/60/14) matching Cooper Cobra tires. As can be seen in the photos, it comes as well with plenty of documentation. Included are an Owners manual, Consumer Information manual, Maintenance schedule/record, Goodyear Highway Tire adjustment policy, Delorean Dealer list, Spare parts Catalogue and Factory Service bulletins. Also has a stainless steel maintenance kit and a brand new set of DMC floormats. Please ask all questions prior to bidding and do not bid unless you intend to buy.
