For your consideration... Nicely refreshened, Strong running 1974 Honda CR250M Elsinore Factory Motocross Racer. Originally sold in and brought up from Florida. Frame number CR250M-1023806 Engine number CR250 ME- 1026863. New correct style seat cover with rebuilt foam on original aluminum base. Recontoured very nice original and hard to find pipe with equally hard to find NOS $500. + pickle silencer. Recent cosmetic attention with many new costly parts including very nicely repainted fenders and aluminum gas tank with correct repro decals, reproduction front number plate with very nice restored original side number panels, black powder coated original handlebars with new grips, levers, original kill switch and correct cables. Mostly correct although aged original fasteners and hardware. Decent condition usable Dunlop Sports tires on nice clean original round rims. Very clean forks and tubes. Shocks are sound but scraped. I have a rebuildable set I'll include. Mechanically... Crisp running engine required no attention. Starts, shifts and runs as it should... Scary fast and not for the faint of heart ! Restorations of Elsinores are always a compromise of available rare high dollar parts, numerous opinions on correctness of hard to duplicate finishes and of course labor intensive time consuming research and wrenching. This great bike of course still wears some slight imperfections, race history scars and aged patina of a 38 year old Motocross race bike. Not an over restored $9000.00 Armour Alled Garage Queen or but lovingly refreshened with the consideration of originality and aforementioned compromises. Recently shown and very well accepted at July Interlochen, MI vintage motorcycle show. The reasonable pricing of this rare Elsinore reflects the current Real market values and is fairly offered at an appropriate level for a rare CR250M of this caliber ! Shows and rides very well as is or take it to that next concours level should you choose as an excellent donor.
