Vehicle Detail
1991 Mercedes Benz 350SD in Ascot Gray with Gray leather. This car was originally ordered at Pepe Mercedes and picked up at the Sindelfingen factory in Germany through the European delivery program. It has been garage kept and meticulously maintained. The car was serviced at Pepe Mercedes and at German Car Service (Vintage Mercedes Specialist) in Scarsdale, NY.; every maintenance receipt from day one will be conveyed with the car. The car had one owner until 2011, at which time it was passed from father to son. It is one of just over 600 350SD's made in 1991 and very few of those were finished in Ascot Gray, which gives the car a distinct classic look. The car is in excellent condition and is certainly a rare find. The exterior of the car is in very good condition. The paint holds a deep shine and shows no sign of fade. There is no rust on the car. There are a few bumps, scuffs, and scratches that you would expect on a car owned by an 80+ year old driver. Most notable are: a dent on both left and right rear quarter panels behind tail lights, a scratch on the passenger rear door and a ding in on the forward right fender. Also, the front left headlight has cracked from a rock strike. These blemishes do not significantly detract from the overall beauty and appearance of the car. The color appears somewhat deceptive as silver in some of the photos, the best I can describe it is as a non-metallic pastel light gray. All glass, chrome, plastic, and trim pieces are in very good shape and have no damage. The wheels are also in very good condition. The interior of the car is in excellent condition. The leather is soft and supple; there is no tightening, stretch, or tears in the upholstery. There are only some small cracks on the arm rest and minor wear. The seats hold their original shape, spring and form. The dash has no cracks and the headliner sits perfectly with no sign of sag. The wood is in very good condition holding a deep bright color and showing very few cracks in the finish. There is a small wear mark where the elbow would rest on the driver's door sill, it has been covered by matching tape. This car has not been smoked in and has no strange odors. The carpets are free from any noticeable dirt or stains. Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition. The suspension and steering are tight, the transmission shifts smoothly, and the engine is fast and strong. The transmission was replaced by German Car Service at around 100k miles for about $3,100 and operates as it did when new. There are no strange noises or rattles. There are no stains on the garage floor underneath it. The car does not emit abnormal smoke. The front end makes no noises while going over bumps or turning. All interior functions, including power seats, stereo, windows, climate etc. work as they should. A/C is 134a and cools the car comfortably. There are no check engine, ABS, air bag etc. lights on. The power antenna mast will not fully extend on its own. I have 3 master keys, a valet key and the wallet key. The car has all the manuals that came with it. The original radio was replaced with a modern Alpine head unit with an ipod port in the glove box. The tires are Michelin MXV4's and have plenty of tread on them. I have the complete service history of the car; it was maintained to the book and no expense had been spared in its upkeep. This 350SD is a very rare find and in very good condition. These cars have a legendary reputation for their durability and efficiency. Most examples of this model that are left show their age or have 200-300k on them. This car has been very well preserved and is in very impressive condition. I have tried to describe the car as thoroughly and accurately as possible. If you have any further questions, would like specific photos or would like to see the car, please let me know.
