Vehicle Detail

1974 Triumph TR6 Original Blue Plate Californa Car with Overdrive, Extreamly clean with no significant collision or rust damage ever. Includes upgrades: triple weber side draft carbs, dual exhaust, mallory dual point distributor, rear tube shock conversion, front koni adjustable shocks, mini-lite style wheels. Original carbs, rear shocks and distributor included. Bumpers removed for painting. Car runs very strong and solid. Needs paint and some TLC, bumpers are straight but need chrome, clutch bearing squeaks, some switches need replacement or rework (ignition, OD, lights, turn signal) original interior is worn. Small rust spot on passenger-side rocker panel under trim. Previous owner did very minor body work on hood and trunk, now in primer. Engine compartment is factory original paint and stickers, but needs detailing. Includes new convertible top and carpet kit not installed. Suspension rebuilt with urethane bushings. Tires, hoses, brake calipers and pads in good condition. This car is a runner and sounds really nice. I have recently driven from Palm Springs to San Diego and back over the mountain (Palms to Pines highway). So much fun! On Jul-23-12 at 20:03:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Just added some pictures that show the wheel wells and rocker panels. I believe this is all the original factory undercoating. Photos show this car is all rust-free except the one spot on the passenger rocker panel that needs a patch. Other than that, sand it, paint it and it will be perfect! Car includes new dash pad and sun visors, also as mentioned before includes new convertible top and new carpet, these items are not installed. On Jul-27-12 at 19:13:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Added pictures of interior. Original gauges look good and all work, but you will need to use the stock distributer to drive the mechanical tach. Seats probably should be recovered. Original door panels actually look pretty good.On Jul-28-12 at 08:28:34 PDT, seller added the following information: A few more details: Headlights, tail lights, brake lights all working, turn signals not working now, i think needs new switch as mentioned in original listing. Choke cable not connected to carbs, so car runs lean until warmed up, just need to blip the throttle when idling until warmed up. Also, I originally mentioned that ignition switch needs replacing, it just jumps to off unless you hold it. I have been just clamping the key with a little set of vice grips to hold it in the on position for driving, but this is annoying, probabably the first thing to fix. Cooling system seems good, no problem driving and at a regular stop light at over 100 deg F, but I honestly I wouldn't want to sit and idle for 10 minutes at these temps, I dont think these cars were designed to sit and idle in that kind of heat. This car does need some attention, but it is basically very solid and straight. Also, if you want to return to original, I think the Weber carbs can be sold for quite a bit (the carb kit alone, without filters costs $2495, moss pn 222-490, this car has has those air horns under the filters)
