Vehicle Detail
0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false I am selling my beloved 1956 Austin Healy BN2 100. This car was built on March 2, 1956. This car was shipped to a dealer in Canada. I purchased this car in Canada several years ago and had it shipped to the US. I have lightly used this car for an occasional Sunday drive when the weather is right. The car #’s are: Car/Chassis Number: BN 2L 231156 and Body # 5758 12333. The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust has certified this car as a genuine factory built 100 M “Le Mans”. That being said, at some point in this car’s history it was restored. Here is what I understand and believe about this car. The body numbers that I could locate are all matching. The engine no longer has an attached number plate. The car has a three-speed BN1 transmission. The carburetor numbers do not match the engine number. I wish I knew more about the restoration. I have included pictures of all of the body/engine numbers that I could locate. This car drives beautifully and runs strong. The paint has a few minor “pin head” chips and scratches. All gauges (except the odometer) are in working order. The overdrive is in working order. It will leave a few drip stains when parked. I have had a mechanic verify that there are no leaks requiring fixing. All covers, tools, book, etc. in the photos will transfer with the car. $500 deposit via PayPal required immediately following close of auction. The car is available for inspection. It is located in Northern NJ out side of NYC. Please feel free to send me any questions. I will do my best to answer them. On Jul-21-12 at 06:10:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Please send me a message if you would like to see any additional photos. I have a photo of the underside of the aluminum molding cockpit surround that shows the matching numbers (12333). On Jul-22-12 at 11:49:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I have measured the front sway bar and it is the correct 5/8" for a 100M. Also, there is a small bend in the driver's side lower "X" brace that I am understand was sometimes made to allow the "Le Mans" cam to be installed. On Jul-23-12 at 10:40:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received several requests for additional information on the car and have taken several additional photos. Again, these photos are available for viewing in you send me your email address. Cockpit Surround: I had originally only removed the aluminum molding cockpit surround on the driver's side. As I previously stated, it has the correct matching number (12333). I now have also removed the passenger side and front aluminum molding cockpit surround. The passenger side has the correct matching number (12333). The front molding cockpit surround has number (5989). I have photos of both of these. I do not plan to remove the rear cockpit surround as there are bolts involved and it is too much work.
