1967 Mustang Fastback - King Cobra " The Snake ". Raced till 1993. It was a race car most of it's life. It was a 289, manual shift 4 speed posi car from the dealer originally . It only has 6900 ACTUAL MILES on the car. It was class champion at Maple Grove in 1983 and sold and raced at Cecil County in 1993. It ran the low elevens. I have timing slips to prove it and can give you the names of the men who raced it and built the engine .Then it got sold and parked in a garage till I found it. It has a 427 FE block that is 30 over. 12 to 1 pistons, Mid riser heads and Mid riser 2 four intake with holly carbs and stock linkage. The crank is a 428 CJ as are the rods. Deep oil pan and headers. Electric powered water pump. MSD-6 ignition. A cool can for the fuel,No front sway bar so it will lift better on launch, 90-10 shocks on front and air shocks on the rear . Ladder bars and 9 inch rear. It is either detroit locker or posi- Not sure which ? 410 rear gears. Single roll bar for the driver. Lap and shoulder harness for the driver.Hurst line lock and Winters Racing Rachet shifter. Trans has a converter seal leak when parked in 1993. Tac is a Pro-Comp 5909 by Auto- Meter, guages are Auto meter, oil, water, fuel, vacum,, stock 120 MPH speedo and 6000 rpm stock tach. Shelby trunk lid and extensions off a real sShelby, I was told this by a prior owner. Racing hood. 3 minor rust spots. 2 on doors and one behind left rear tire. No rust anywhere else. car is 99% rust free. Interior is very nice. needs rear seat and pass seat. Has centerline lite weight wheel front and rear ( I think thy are centerline ? ) and tires are 710-15 fronts and 28x10x15 rear. The car has had oil squirted in each cylinder yearly since 1993 I was told by prior owner. If you go to a nine inch convertor and newer compound slicks it should easily run in the low ten's . I was told this by a prior owner. You can buy it and freshen it up for rather cheap versus building a clone Nostilga Race car - have the real deal . It is a very nice car. You can either make an Elenor, a Shelby GT-500 clone or go Nostilga racing cheap. You could just buy it and sell the 427 to a guy building a Cobra. If it does not sell it will be made into a Shelby Clone. It is being sold as-is. It has not been started since parked in 1993. It was driven off the trailer at that time. I would trade for a Cobra Kit Car if it is nice ? I do not need to sell : so do not call with a low ball offer or cheap trades . It is parked on a hill and has no brakes. If you buy it you cannot back anything but a car trailer up to the garage it is locked in. Extra charge if I have to hire someone to move it if you hire a tractor trailer to transport it. Thank you .
