Here is a 1971 AMC Javelin SST, 304 3 speed. I bought this car a few weeks ago from a man that bought it in 1973. The car has been moved around for last 20+years from garage to garage, and barn to barn. I’m told it is all numbers matching, it even has the mustard yellow paint still on it, and the 8 track tape player in it ( but front door to player is on floor) . I put a battery ( battery not included ) in it and poured gas in carb, and it fired right up. It will need restored, on the inside it will need carpet, headliner, and the seats recovered. The engine has smog equipment and the tubes that go to exhaust manifolds are rusted through . The battery box is junk and the radiator support has rust near battery. Trunk has scaling , but I don’t see any rust holes. The front drivers side fender is dented and has a rust hole , rest of body is not that bad, in my opinion , but look at pictures and judge for your self. Car will need to be picked up in Decatur, Indiana 46733. I will need a 200.00 dollar deposit after sale and car will need to be picked up within 3 weeks of sale. Please ask all questions before bidding. I’m not that familiar with AMC’s. I’m told the grill is for a 72 not a 71, and the rear leaf springs are shot, no spring left in them, I was told this is common on these carsOn Jul-10-12 at 08:14:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Car may have had paint work done at some time, has over spray on door trim tag.
