For Sale: 1959 Mercury Park Lane four-door hardtop. Longest (128") wheelbase, full-size Mercury ever built, and last year for the unique Park Lane wheelbase. Striking Silver Beige Metallic exterior with Taupe interior. Originally a Colorado car; purchased by current owner in 1988 with subsequent summer use only and indoor storage year-round. Well-equipped car with factory A/C, power windows, power steering, power brakes, Multi-Drive, radio, heater/defroster, tinted glass, dual conical exterior mirrors, and day-nite mirror. Work done between 1988 and 1996: Recromed bumpers, Windshield replacement, New uphlostery with last of NOS material from SMS, Correct loop-pile cut-and-sew carpet, New water pump, Rebuilt A/C compressor, New high-pressure A/C line, NOS Foxcraft stainless steel fender skirts, and Radio speaker re-coned. Work done in last six years: Set of four Coker wide whitewall tires and correct 14" wheels/wheelcovers, Brake system overhaul (incl. wheel cylinders, lines, and master cylinder), Fuel system overhaul (incl. gas tank Re-Nu and carb rebuild), and Major tune-up. Great-driving and great-looking car. Not a show car/trailer queen, and priced accordingly. Strong-running 430 CID Lincoln V-8 (unique to Park Lane in '59). Multi-Drive functions correctly in all ranges. Power windows all work. Known mechanical items to be addressed: A/C now blows cool rather then cold, Power Steering reservior runs dry over the winter, minor leakage during summertime usage, Odometer/speedometer does not work (never has while I owned it, MILEAGE IS UNKNOWN), Safety start switch is functional in neutral only, and Driver-side window (flat glass) is cracked.
