Vehicle Detail
Older restoration 1931 Plymouth PA Deluxe Rumbleseat Coupe with 4 wheel hydraulic brakes, dual side mount spare tires, front and rear bumpers, foldable rear trunk mount, step plates, cowl lights, and an excellent condition "Flying Lady" radiator mascot cap. All six 19 inch wire spoke wheels are in excellent condition, well painted, and mounted with Goodyear Diamond Back white wall tires. All wheels have Plymouth hubcaps in good condition. All glass is safety glass in good condition. All windows raise and lower easily, including the rear oval window which lowers to allow for ventilation or for talking to passengers riding in the rumbleseat. Windshield swings out from the bottom to allow for increased ventilation. Interior is upholstered in a grey taupe broadcloth in good condition. Headliner is in passable condition, but should be replaced. Steering wheel is in excellent condition. Horn works well. Dash gauges include oil, water, speedometer, amperes, and gasoline. The oil pressure gauge needs repair. The car has a 3 speed manual transmission plus free-wheeling with a floor mounted shift lever. The PA was the first Chrysler car to use the "Floating Power" engine mount setup giving the car a smoother, quieter ride. The PA's frame is a double drop type, with a kick up over both the rear banjo type axle and the front I-beam axle, resulting in the center section of the frame - and the body - being much lower compared to many other cars of the period. With this lower center of gravity, the PA handles well and has better road holding stability and overall drivability. Semi-elliptic springs mounted in rubber shackles front and rear, plus hydraulic shock absorbers at all four corners also improve ride quality. The car will be sold as is / where is and is located in Falling Waters, WV just south of Hagerstown, MD. For questions or further information, please call 304-274-1337 in the evenings.
