Well I' m sure no expert on VOLKSWAGEN THINGS, but I acquired this type 181 from a lady who's husband died 2 years ago. It was his daily driver since 1979. This car has just sat idle in storage for the last 2 years. It was running and driving fine when last parked. It will need some fresh gas, and a new battery. But it should be simple to get going again. (it is not currently running). This VOLKSWAGEN is dirty and just how I received it. It's sure not perfect, and it won't win any beauty contests, but would make a neat daily driver. Or perhaps a nice restoration project. It's not as rusty as most I've seen, and what rust it may have, is minimal, for being almost 40 years old. This car had a new engine installed a few years back. I have a huge stack of every reciept related to this car for the last 33 years. It also recently had a new gas tank installed. It also comes with the big fat factory service manuals for the type 181' s (the nice ones). I am selling this VOLKSWAGEN THING as is. I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed, in any way. My opening bid is 2,750.00 with no reserve. I have a clear and open Colorado title for it. I can't imagine finding a more complete, or more unmolested Type 181 THING Volkswagen like this for the price. I only want the buyer to be as excited as I was when it came my way. Term of sale I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, disassemble, or deliver to a shipping company. I will however be more than happy to assist your shipper, however I can. A $100.00 non-refundable deposit through Pay Pal is required within 48 hours of auction's end. PayPal is acceptable for the deposit only.
