Vehicle Detail

FOR SALE is a GREAT 1995 Ford Taurus GL Station Wagon with good and strong 3.0 V6 engine that has 151,857 miles. READ CAREFULLY: the TIRES and WHEELS are NOT part of this sale. TIRES and WHEELS are for sale separately, so READ THE FULL AD BEFORE BIDDING as complete details are provided. This car needs at least one transmission solenoid. Hard shifting (due to the bad solenoid) has caused at least one motor mount to break. I had two motor mounts replaced recently and did not make it to the transmission shop before the hard shifting caused them to break again. This time, the engine shifted forward in the engine bay far enough to tear the AC lines (which is a shame because we just had the AC serviced). The momentary engine shifting also stretched a radiator hose causing a slight leak. The accelerator cable is in a slight bind, so the car has to be trailered- it will try to run away with you if you attempt to drive it as is. HOWEVER: This has been a WONDERFUL and SUPER RELIABLE car that I have used to make trips from Little Rock to Dallas, TX and Fayetteville, AR late at night and without fear of breakdown. Before the solenoids went out, it was the most reliable car out of the five that we own. The only problem is that I am NOT a Ford guy and don't care for station wagons. This car was given to me when my other car became too unreliable to make my daily 50 mile round trip to work and back. I just bought a mini-van to handle the family needs, and I want a sports car as my daily driver. I do not want to invest the money into another station wagon. This car is too good to go to a salvage yard. The only other issues I can think of that the car has are: 1. Vapor Locking: On days when the outside temperature is over 95 degrees, and if you are running the (ice cold) AC, the car's temp gauge will rise ¾ of the way up instead of half way up. When this happens, the computer thinks it is overheating even though it is not. When that happens, the computer shuts the car down until it cools off. We have had the car in the shop to find this problem, but it was an 88 degree day, therefore, the temp gage never rose above half. I have been told that this is a vapor lock condition common to these cars and I do not know what the fix to it is. 2. The fuel pump has made noise since we owned the car and it will have to be replaced eventually. 3. The car has no battery. Bring a battery to hear it run; or I can swap one in from my mini van long enough for you to hear the engine. It has not been driven in three months. About the wheels/ tires: The reason the tires/wheels are for sale separately is that we just bought 4 new tires size: 215/75 R 15 at $95 each and had only driven one tank full of gas out of the car before the motor mounts broke, therefore, these tires are brand new. NOTE: The 1995 Taurus Wagon originally came with 205/65 R 15 tires. The new tires are taller which gears the car better for interstate driving and gas mileage. However the speedometer is now wrong. When the speedometer reads 70 MPH, you are going 76 MPH. I do not know if the buyer will want these tires. I will sell them or put them on my mini van. If you want the wheels/tires, then you will pay an extra $400 for them. I plan to put them on my mini van, but have not done this yet. If the car does not sell now, then when I do, I will put junk tires on the Taurus wheels that will hold air and will list the car again with the wheels included. SUMMERY: By the car WITHOUT wheels, tires and battery by being the highest bidder. To get the wheels and tires, bring an extra $400 cash. Bring your own battery to hear the car run, or wait for me to swap in the battery from my mini van.
