1959 Buick Electra 225 Convertible Barn find. Tampico Red exterior with Red leather interior and white top (L3 , 870J). The Car sat in a Pennslyvania Barn for 40 years (from 1970 until 2010). The car was pull out from the barn, cleaned up a bit and assessed by a restoration shop. The restorations shop determined the engine was frozen and needed a rebuild, the car was complete and solid except for the door. The car wears it original top and also has the original convertible top boot that covers the well when the top is down. The restoration shop assumes some field mice made their home in the doors of the car and one of the cylinders of the car. The Engine and Twin turbine were rebuilt bolted together and placed in the car. The motor peripherals need to be done and installed (carb, starter, generator, power steering). The 59 Electra 225 convertibles (4867) came loaded with Power brakes, power steering, and power windows. This car has the following options - (I6) tinted glass, (D1) radio, (E) rear speaker, (B) heater / defroster. Buick made 5,493 Electra 225 convertibles in 1959 and this is the 2,131 out of 5,493. The car is complete, both doors are shot, enigne needs final assembly , paint is mostly orignal the passenger door and front fender were redone done at some point, much of the paint has surface spoting on it. The car has a PA title and is being sold As Is on a bill of sale.
