Vehicle Detail

'39 - '47 FORD COE Chassis & Drivetrain This is a fully restored '39 - '47 COE chassis and drivetrain. It was restored as a '41 but with a late model 8BA flathead. The previous owner owned a Mac dealership and had all the work done by his guys. Everything has been cleaned, rebuilt and painted. It appears to have been running but I haven't started it yet. It turns over with power and has spark but I haven't tried it with fuel (I hope to have it running before the auction ends). The chassis has been shortened at some point - looks to be 101" – probably to build a wrecker. It has a late model 8ba flathead v8, 4-speed trans, 2-speed dual wheel rear end. The thing rolls freely, steers, etc. - why not, it's been completely done! There is no title but I can put you in touch with someone who can supply one for a fee. There are some additional parts not shown in the photos - linkages, air cleaner, generator, etc. which I have and will include in the deal. There is NO cab or sheetmetal included. If you were to do this resto you'd be into it for an easy ten grand. There is a reserve on this of a fraction of that as I have no intention of giving it away. The winning bidder/buyer must send a $200. non-refundable deposit within 24 hrs. The simple reason for this is because Ebay charges me, the seller, regardless of how the deal ends. I have done my best to show the true state of this unit and by bidding you are agreeing to these terms.I will take a Paypal deposit and final payment in cash or money order upon pickup. I will not ship or deliver. The vehicle is located in Ontario, Canada. 1 hour from the Niagara Falls border or 3 hours from Detroit. On Jun-27-12 at 19:02:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Add should read '37 - '47 as the drivetrain for these years remained basically the same.On Jun-28-12 at 19:01:00 PDT, seller added the following information: ******* IT RUNS !!! ******* I got the thing running tonight (Thursday). It starts easily, idles smoothly and the throttle response is crisp (no bog or stumble). It is also very quiet and despite having sat at least the whole winter it does not blow any smoke out the exhaust. I will be posting a link to a video (if I can figure how to do that!). On Jun-28-12 at 19:53:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Video links to youtube: http://youtu.be/TqZLN1TfNq0 and http://youtu.be/MFHqNqkNOxkOn Jun-29-12 at 11:36:47 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE TO U.S. buyers. I've been getting a lot of inquiries regarding importing this into the U.S.. Since there is no ownership or registration this would be imported as "parts". Please go to the U.S. Customs link below to see the specifics regarding importing:https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/218/kw/importing%20antique%20car%20parts%20into%20the%20us worth noting is this statement:"Vehicles over 25 years old are exempt from EPA and DOT requirements, although you will still need to obtain and prepare EPA and DOT paperwork to provide to a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer in order to clear your vehicle through CBP." All the forms are available online through the link. It is my experience that it is far easier for an American citizen to import the vehicle into the US than for a Canadian to export to the US.
