Vehicle Detail

1990 HONDA PRELUDE ALB SI WHAT A CAR THIS WAS IN 1990!!! Maybe you can restore it to its former glory! I'm opening the bidding on this beauty very low. The reason is that the car needs lots of work. Whereas I am unaware of any major event that might have harmed the car, there are still issues that will take some TLC to fix. The carpet is wearing thin, for instance. The interior is a little dingy. The exterior has some dings and dents. The bumpers are solid but have seen very minor fender benders, clearly. There's no battery in the car, but I had one in there just before I made the auction and the car turns over and drives. How FAR will it drive!? I don't know. Probably not very far... Probably like 20 miles. It has a engine heater hose leak. It needs CV's It needs new brakes It needs battery It needs the valve cover seals replaced It needs rack and pinion It needs new seat belts (dealerships do this for free since they're just wearing out) It needs wheel bearings It needs a new muffler It needs to have the cruise control fixed. It needs the A/C fixed It needs to have the antenna fixed. It needs to have the gauge cluster fixed (speed, and mileage, is not being recorded. Frozen @112k) This list is NOT comprehensive. It's got a straight little frame. It's got four alloys with decent tires. The car just needs some serious help, but IT CAN BE DONE. It can. IF there are specific questions that you need answered I will happily answer them. It's probably a great parts car, or shell. The above list is not all that is wrong with the car, it might even need transmission work. It does drive though, and there's no smoke coming out the back. The auction is going to start well beneath what I paid for it in its current condition. I just don't have time to work on it, and I hate to have it sit here. HAPPY BIDDING On Jul-01-12 at 21:24:08 PDT, seller added the following information: SO....someone messaged asking if the car is reliable!? This car IS NOT reliable, as the original description I posted for the auction clearly states. I even mentioned that it's probably more of a parts car, or shell. This car has NO battery. It needs to be TOWED...(unless you want to bring a battery and risk being stranded, and I'm not even sure if the seat belts work right now, a dealership needs to check them!!!) The seat belts are NOT working well, as far as I can tell, but they do lock up when you brake hard, so I'm reluctant to say they don't work. A dealer needs to check this out. I'm used to my much much newer Honda's snappier seat belts. This auction has more than 10 watchers. I'll expect a cashiers check as payment from the winning bidder. THE MILEAGE IS NOT ACCURATE! The gauge cluster is broken. I don't know how much mileage the car has, but I believe it to be in the neighborhood of 135k, (but that is just a good guess, maybe it has 1,000,000,000 miles on it!) The parts on the car are worth more than $500. This car is sold as-is where is. No warranties expressed or implied. A great opportunity to own a quickly fading part of Honda's history. A great vintage auto with unrealized potential. As far as I know it has spent its whole 22 years in places that do not have harsh winters (that require salt on the roads.) If you have thousands of dollars to spend, and some DIY mechanical know how, this could be a very exciting project. There are full drivetrain packages from Japan available on ebay with very low mileage that fit this model. Good luck, and happy bidding...
