Up for sale is a 1975 FJ40 originally from Arizona and had shipped to my home in VA. It has a really strong running 2F with 4 speed manual transmission. I took the top off when I got it and only put it back on last week for the pictures. I keep it in my garage and only use it on nice weekends to run to the store or cruise around town. I put new BF Goodrich’s on and have really only driven the cruiser very little. I had a new 4 core radiator installed shortly after I bought it. I also had it completely rewired and had new front turn signals and taillights put on. I put new 3 point seat belts in the front and lap belts in the back. I had a new clutch put in last year and the flywheel resurfaced along with a new rear seal and I had the front seal changed at the same time. I had the rear tire carrier and cooler mount fabricated locally but also have the original as shown in the pictures. I had a complete tune-up done this spring with new plugs/wires and the transmission and rear diff oil changed. I also put a power steering kit on it, box from an early 80’s Toyota pickup and the pump is from an 88 cruiser. I also put new shocks on this year along with a Tuffy security/stereo console. I would say it is 95% rust free. I rhino lined the inside because I liked the look and thought it would be more durable with the dog and kids. Before I did it there was a small amount of rust on the driver’s side floor and back by the ambulance doors. There is also very little surface rust around the wheel wells where there were some fender flares that have since been removed. There is also a small crack on the lower part of the passengers side front fender, see pics. The previous owner had patched the roof with fiberglass as shown in the pictures. The wiper motor needs to be replaced but I have never bothered with it because if it’s raining it’s in the garage. Also when I bought the cruiser the mileage on the odometer read 102,234 which I cannot verify was accurate, but when I had the title transferred the DMV put it on at 120,234. Like I said I could not verify the 102,234 so I was not that concerned about the title reading 120,234. The current odometer reading is 106,500. She starts right up on the first turn and runs and shifts beautifully. There are no leaks and the engine sounds great. You'll get tons of thumbs up and waves driving this beauty like I do. She's ready for some fun summer cruising! I had always wanted one of these as a kid and I have had a lot of fun with it the last few years.
