Available for auction: one VERY RARE 1968 MORETTI SPORTIVA. Low starting bid of $7500.00. Looking at it's photos, the car's proportions do nothing to suggest it's diminutive stature. You're not really prepared for how small the car is (48"+/- in height - see photo). The simple elegance of the interior design allows drivers reaching over 6' in height to drive or ride along comfortably. The success of the design goes to the masterful blending of curves along the wheelbase and styling cues taken from more exotic cars of the period (think Ferrari 246GT, 206GT and/or Fiat Dino Spider) except at a scale of about two-thirds the size. Great city car. The Moretti Sportiva is a carrozzeria, built on a stock Fiat 850 platform, powered by a stock 850 motor. This car, however, has the cat like appearance of it's much more powerful cousins. You will fall in love with this car. I'm the third owner. My father bought this car - used - in March of 1969 and the previous owner bought it - new - in July of 1968; as shown on registration records. While garaged most of its 44 years it does have condition issues; it has not ran since 1984. After recent review by a master mechanic it was determined that the engine is complete, however seized. There are areas of rust, some noted in the pictures, and the passenger front bumper has been repaired as well as the nose of the car. It has been repainted once, the original color was red, and will need new paint. It is important to note that approximately 28 of these cars were imported to the United States; with a total of only 400 produced. It is estimated that in the United States, only two are operational. It is a rare oppportunity to find this car in ANY condition.
