I bought this car from its previous owner who had it in storage since 1984. The car has not been registered since 1984, as you can see in the pictures, the original license plate from that year is still on the car. I intended to restore it, but now, influenced by my wife, I need to buy a newer model BMW convertible. I am a BMW enthusiast, and I can say that this car is great for a restoration project. It does need some work, of course, but that's the fun part. The only request I had when I purchased the car, was to have the previous owner prove to me the engine is not locked. That explains why the radiator is out, because he showed me how the engine turns freely. All the parts that are missing in the engine bay, are in the trunk, air filter box, air filter, radiator, alternator, etc. All parts are there. Also, the pedals and pedal assembly has been removed, but it's in the trunk. As far as I can tell, the car is complete. All electrical components are operational, and when the key is turned, the started works and the engine spins. It cannot be driven in current condition, but I don't think it takes a lot of work to get it running. There are some rust spots on the driver's door, by the door handle, as well as the rear fenders. Minor spots are on the back of the car, by the license plate and front, between the hood and the headlight. Under carriage has some rust and the exhaust needs to be reattached or replaced, as seen in the picture. Interior is in very good condition, except a crack in the driver's seat. All glass is in perfect condition, no cracks. Dashboard and door panels are perfect no cracks or any type of damage. Car has original books and documentation. While I wish this car will find a new home and will be restored, giving it a chance to a new life, this car is also perfect for parts. As the car is not operational, it will need to be picked up on a tow truck. Buyer can locally pick it up, or make arrangements to have it picked up. Deposit of 200$ via Paypal is required within 48 hours of auction end. Full payment required within 7 days of auction end. If deposit is not received within the first 2 days, negative feedback will be left for buyer and the car will be relisted.
