You are looking at a very original, one family owned 1966 Le Mans. This car was bought new in Illinois in 1966 and made its way to Phoenix shortly thereafter. It has been in the same family until recently. It has the original 6 cylinder overhead cam engine and powerglide transmission. It has 67,000 original miles and has one of the nicest original interiors of any car I have ever had. It appears to have been painted once in its lifetime and when they moved the car to Phoenix, the family had the windows tinted and added aftermarket air conditioning to battle the Phoenix heat. The car runs and drives great. It had been sitting in the garage a while when I got it, and I think I am close to burning the old gas out of it. The trunk does have two areas of rust in each corner by the wheel house. I don't know if that was from its early days in Illinois, or from moisture under the trunk mat. I would guess its from the mat because the floors are very nice and rust free. I do have the protect o plate with the car and confirms its origins. These original owner cars with low mileage are getting tougher and tougher to come by. This is a great car to leave alone, put a big engine in it or make a GTO clone.
