1971 Triumph Stag - I found it complete in a junkyard and brought it home to fix up. When I went to title it, I found out that it could not be titled in California. Apparently it had been turned in under some sort of cash for clunkers program and could not be registered in this state (I do not know about other states). I have a BILL OF SALE ONLY. The car is complete and everything works to some extent. When I got it to my garage, I used some starting fluid and a new battery and it fired up! It has a full tank of unknown aged gas, shifts and moves under its own power. The engine is some sort of a GM V-6 that appears to have been put in when the original engine died.The exhaust pipe was welded to the manifold and has broken which is probably why it was junked. I do not know how accurate the mileage is. Someone put a large radiator in it. The tranny is stock. Rust in the usual places. I have a hard top for it that has rust under the rear window glass. The paperwork that I have seems to indicate that the car was in several junkyards over the years so I do not have a sense on how long it sat. The interior is good but the upholstery is sun baked. The soft top was brittle when I took it off and the soft top frame is missing bolts and is broken. All the instruments seem to work. I was goimg to put a Rover V-8 in it until I found that I could not license it. This car is being sold as is. There is no warranty. The car is not road worthy and needs to be trailered.
