ALL THIS INFO AND MORE CAN BE SEEN AT www.10-e.net/torino OWN A ONE-OF-A-KIND CAR: What makes this car interesting is that is 1 of 12 Torino two-door hardtops built with the non-ram air Corba Jet (coded "C" in the VIN) and four speed that's for ALL Torinos in the US, not just Type N/Ws. It is very unusual to find a performance motor on a non-performance model, so this Torino delivers a one-two punch in regards to desirability. With the motor and tranny, regional special status, and great color, is has ALL the ingredients of a GREAT collectible. This is a 1970 Type N/W (Northwest) Torino 2 door hardtop, 429 CJ big input close ratio 4 speed, 9 inch nodular rear end with 31 spline axles. I am the second owner of this car. I bought this car June 20, 2001 with 100,532 and the current mileage is now 101,602. Before the new generation Tornio came out in 1970, the Ford dealer association in Oregon got together with an idea to promote this brand new body style. The special Tornio would be unique to the Northwest and only 601 were to be produced and the final production number was 395. This one is Pacific Blue with a black hood, dual chrome hood lock pins, dual racing mirrors, rocker panel racing stripes, and argent styled wheels. Of the 395 Typr N/W only 5 were 429's and of that only 1 is a 429CJ. This vehicle was purchased new at the dealership I have worked at for 28 years. This car is in its mostly original condition. I replaced the interior driver's side seat inserts, but the rest is original. Tthe trunk is still sporting the original spare tire and jack. The first owner had the car painted 25 years ago due to a dent kicked above the driver's wheel. The only other change made was to the rear differential. I replaced the 3.0 ratio with a 370 gear locker, but have retained the original 3.0. all of the original tags are still located on the engine, transmission, and rear differential. Parts overhauled within the engine compartment are the starter, alternatore, carbuertor, and fuel pump. Also including new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, water pump, center force clutch, front rotors, pads, master cylinder, all hoses, re-cored the radiator and heater core. The engine has been completely redone including overhauling the heads, new springs and retainers, ground valves and milled heads, replaced the timing chain, oil pump, factory spec cam shaft, polish crank with (standard) bearings, CNC honed and hot tank block, standard rings and new lifters. I used as many original Ford parts as I could find. Car runs excellent, but is "Sold As Is" and buyer is responsible for all shipping or pickup fees.
