Vehicle Detail
This is a 50 plymouth business coupe that I got in pieces and made into a cool little roadster. Most of the car is hand made. It sits on somewhat of a ford ranger frame, using djm drop I-beams and re5's for front suspension and re7's on a 2 link cantilever in the rear. The car gets around 6 inches of lift in the front and around 20 in the rear, so you may remove the rear tires. I have no problems driving it at around 2 inches of ground clearance, even with our terrible roads here. Management is 2 viair 380 compressors and 4 smc valves. It has front and rear controls, that's it. There is an oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, and volt gauge.... bare minimums. The rest of the interior is metal, and was made so that leaving it out in the rain wouldn't really hurt it. There is no hood, no doors, and I have a trunk lid I made if you want it.... but it looks nothing like a factory one, and has my shops initials in it. The engine is a 2.3 liter ford motor. It is the bottom end of a mustang 2.3 and the head of the ranger 2.3. It is the oval port head, and has had machine work done to it, and a mild cam installed. It lopes nicely at idle. The motor also has a edslinger aluminum intake manifold, a holley 4 ballel carb, runs on a msd ignition box and msd distributor, and a header. I am running a water bubbler setup from the World War 2 days that burns methanol and ethanol along with gas for fuel. This helps the car get around 32 mpg and runs much smoother. Just like most rat rods, everywhere I go, people ask questions, and give thumbs up, and take pictures. Even our local law enforcement has taken pictures standing in front of the car. It's hard not to like it.... haha I emphasize that this car is a bare bone rat rod! It has plenty of imperfections, and was never built to be a show car. This car was made from spare parts as a rat rod should be. I did not start with an awesome car and modify it. I built this how I wanted to, the way I wanted to. However, I am a professional welder, I weld on hovercrafts and submarines. This is one of over 200 cars I have built. THIS CAR IS NOT JUNK, IT WAS BUILT RIGHT!!! I am selling it only to make room for some of my other projects. I love driving these cars.... however, I love building them more, and I can't keep all of them.
