Vehicle Detail
Well I'm sure no expert on TR-6's, but I acquired a pair of these cars from an elderly man who has terminal cancer and can no longer follow through with his restoration plans he had for retirement. I have the other car, (a 1971 TR-6), listed on E-bay as well...item # 160811571471 This car is what I call a "barn find". It has sat idle and in storage for 6-10 years. First I will list the minuses, as I see them... This car is very dirty and just how I received it. It's sure not perfect, and won't win any beauty contests. It will need whatever sitting idle that long would dictate. (battery, tune up, fresh fuel, etc). I believe most everything on the car is original (and old). This car was running and driving good when last parked. Now I will list some of its pluses... This car has just 60,000 original miles on it. You will not find a more rust free, 1973 TR-6 anywhere. It's 99.9 % rust free. Any rust it may have, will be next to none. Although it's not perfect, the body is excellent, and extremely straight. It has never been wrecked. Years ago it was repainted and its has some paint cracking, but no rust issues. It has the factory wire wheels as well. The spare has an original red line tire with the nubs still on it. I also have the front bumper for it. Just not installed. Just before it was last parked, it had a brand new set of tubes and tires installed which still look brand new. (not weathered) If I do not sell this car as-is, my mechanic friend, has agreed to service it and get it running again for me. Then I will realist it accordingly. This TR-6 would make a nice daily driver, or better yet could be an all out restoration project. Theese cars are becoming somewhat collectible I am told. I have a clear and open Colorado title for it. I honestly can't imagine finding a lower mileage, or more original and un-molested, 1973 TR-6 like this for the price. Much less fingding one with almost zero rust issues and the wire-wheel option. I only want the buyer to be as excited as I was when it came my way. I think that whom ever buys this car, will be elated with it. But Those are just my thoughts. I have no doubts that someone more mechanical than myself could have it up and going again in fairly short order. My opening bid is 3,500 with no reserve. This car is over 38 years old and I am selling it as is. I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed in any way. Term of sale I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, disassemble, or deliver to a shipping company. I will however be more than happy to assist your shipper, however I can. If you have zero feedback, contact me before you bid or your bid will be canceled, and you will be blocked from further bidding as well.
