Vehicle Detail

1996 Saab 9000 CS finished in Scarab Green with Taupe Leather upholstery. This car is in very impressive condition, a rare find among Saabs of this vintage. It has been garage kept, mostly dealer maintained (Hoffman Saab), and very well cared for. It is an incredibly utilitarian design with the fold down rear seats and hatch yet fast and responsive as well as fuel efficient. As a result of these characteristics many of these cars were driven hard and used up. This car has covered 130k miles but if you did not look at the odometer, you would think it was closer to 75k miles. The car is in excellent condition and would certainly be appreciated by any Saab fan. The exterior of the car is in very good condition. The paint holds a deep shine and luster with no signs of fade. There is no rust. I believe that the car has never been in an accident or ever had any paint work, however, I can only speak with certainty on the last ten years of ownership. There are a few minor scratches and touch ups and I can see 2 small dings the size of a dime or less. Far fewer imperfections than what you would expect on a car of this age. The left rear tail light has a crack that is visible in the photos. All glass, plastic, and trim pieces are in very good shape and have no damage. The wheels are also in good condition but do have some curbing. The interior is also in very good condition. The leather is soft and supple, there is no tightening, stretch, or tears in the upholstery. There are only some small cracks and minor wear. The seats hold their original shape and form. There are no cracks anywhere on the dash and the headliner sits perfectly with no sign of sag. The velour door trim panels are all in excellent shape being sealed tightly to the backing with no sign of release. This car has not been smoked in and has no strange odors. The carpets are free from any noticeable dirt, wear, or stains. All displays illuminate properly. Mechanically, the car runs perfectly. In addition to looking like a car with far fewer miles, it drives like one too. The suspension and steering are tight, the transmission shifts smoothly, and the engine is fast and strong. There are no strange noises or rattles. The front end makes no noises while going over bumps or turning. The rear hatch and hood shocks work as they should and hold open. All interior functions: power seats, stereo, windows etc. work as they should, however, the air conditioning is not getting cold enough to be comfortable on a hot day. There are no check engine, ABS, air bag etc. lights on. The power antenna mast will not fully extend on it's own. It will go up a few inches and needs to be manually extended for the rest. The motor is working but a new mast is needed as the teeth are most likely stripped. There are currently snow tires mounted on the front only, the rear tires are all season and have plenty of tread. I have two keys with working remote door/trunk operation. This 9000 is a very rare find in excellent condition. There are not many left on the road and even fewer in this condition. This would be a great car for a young driver or a fan these old Saabs. I have tried to describe the car as thoroughly and accurately as possible. If you have any further questions, would like specific photos or would like to see the car, please let me know.
