Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on my 1948 Jeepster convertible. This car has been a project of mine for over 2 years and I'm not going to be able to finish it out the way i want. My loss will be someone's gain.. The motor in this car has been totally rebuilt and runs great, the head, and some other parts have been powder coated yellow i have also gone through brake system and fuel system.. the top is in great shape and doesn't have a tear or leak water. One of the doors has an approx 3" cut in plastic that has been taped. The chassis has normal wear and rust, but overall is in good shape. The floor pans were replaced before I bought car. The car has the chrome speer for the hood and the steps for the sides. Both will need to be re-chromed.. I don't have the trim that goes around car. But you can find this rather easily through Jeepster parts places. The paint is showing some bubbling in the back on bumper but not coming through paint. The transmission runs out good, the overdrive needs to be hooked up. The car has new tires on is as well.. The motor and tires has less than 200 miles on them.. Whether you are looking for a fun convertible to ride around in or a car to restore back to original this car is perfect for you.. Some other minor things that just need to be done that any person who tinkers with cars can fix are: the wipers need to be hooked up, the heater needs replacing ($175.00 on ebay fully retored), some knobs need replacing and speedometer cable needs to be hooked back up since the motor was rebuilt... I'm not gonna try to paint a big pretty picture on here to just try and sell my car...I want to be honest and up front about as much as I can. This car needs minor things to be a great day to day driver, if thats what you are looking for you can have this car all ready over a good weekend.. I had to replace the steering wheel due to being a little to chubby to get behind the original... I DO NOT have the original due to having to use it for parts to get the current one on there... The car has always been kept inside and it will definitely turn alot of heads..If you want to get into a rare car inexpensively that is a blast to drive this is it... .I have this car listed locally so I can end auction if it sells... If you want to ask questions please feel free to call me, 606-416-8784 This will be for a local pick up but can possibly can be delivered for negotiated fee if not to far. Deposit of $1000.00 required within 24 hours of sale.. Remaining is due within 7 days after auction ends... Happy bidding On May-17-12 at 06:13:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to add that the cross member on the frame has had a piece removed from it in order for the transmission to fit. Its not cut all the way through, just a piece to make room for a small cylinder on side of transmission to fit and not rub... The transmission that is in the Jeepsteer is out of Willys station wagon and runs out good...If you have questions or concerns on this please call.. This does not effect the way the car drives, just wanted to make sure it was known that the transmission wasn't the original..
