Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE AUCTION This 1973 Mercedes-Benz 280SEL 4.5 is a true one owner all original survivor. Has all service records. It has no rust, and still wear its original paint. The interior is completely original too, right down to the Becker radio and air conditioning. Find it well presented here on eBay in LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. The car has been bought from HOLLYWOOD MERCEDES back in 1973. The 280SEL still wears its original paint, though the it looks better in the photos than in real life. As could be expected, the paint is slightly faded, has a few chips and scratches, and one paint repair to the passenger door, hasn-t been detailed, so it can only get better from here. The rich green may not be to everyone-s taste, but it certainly looks dignified in a 70s old money sort of way. The chrome and wheels also look to be in very good condition. The interior looks to be near perfect, but needs a little cosmetic done on the driver seat. The W108 was built in an era when Mercedes build quality was second to none. The fit and finished is superb, and these are still comfortable cars nearly 40 years later. The A/C could use some attention, but everything else electrical is said to work properly including the windows, and clock. The car will not start cause it has been sitting in the garage since 1997. The engine bay looks honest and well kept though a detailing wouldn-t hurt. Although no barnstormer, the 4.5 V8 gives the 280SEL some power, and it is more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic.A clean W108 like this example will probably sell for less than the sales tax alone on a new S-Class. For this paltry sum, one gets a very comfortable and safe classic with decent power and fantastic presence. Few other cars can match the rock-solid thud delivered when you close the doors on one of these Stuttgart tanks. It is really quite gratifying, and makes you think you should keep the car for 40 years just like this. The car has been sitting since 1997 in a garage. Im selling this for my good friends grandfather which was sent to convalescent home. You can contact me for more questions 323 906-0199
