This is a very nice 2 owner 2001 BMW 525i 5 speed manual transmission. If you know this market, you know manual transmission cars are difficult to find. This car will not disappoint. This car has been dealer (Tischer BMW of Silver Spring, MD) maintained. The Michelin tires are fairly new. Very smooth shifting. Strong engine. Depending on how you drive, you can see between 28-30mpg on the highway. 22-26mpg city. The manual transmission can be more efficient than the automatic counter part (depending on how you drive). I regularly see a composite 27-28.6 mpg (mostly highway with average of 40+ mph). Stop and go city traffic should yield about 22-23 mpg. The recommended fuel is 91 octane or greater. I always use premium gas (93 Octane). The brakes should be good. I have replaced pads and rotors within the past 2 years. The rotors are slotted and drilled. The car comes with the standard BMW trip computer. The CD player is the in-dash type. There is a provision for the 6 disk changer in the trunk. The owner's manual and tool kit is included along with a full size spare tire mounted on a matching alloy mag rim. The A/C is cold, the heat is warm and so are the seats. Clean interior. The seats are not torn up (better than average wear for a car of this age). The carpet is in great shape too. Floor mats come with the car that match the carpet. Drivers side floor mat is in reasonable shape. The bottom side is a little torn and does not hook into the floor like it was when it was new. The other mats are in very reasonable condition. The rear mat on the left side does need some cleaning. The trim is also in good shape. Note: The Air Bag light stays on. According to the dealer, it does not affect functioning of the air bag system. I have an excellent reputation for being honest and representing my items for sale honestly. Also, the mileage is advertised as 138.5K, however I am still driving the car until bids are made, so the mileage may vary slightly. The car is being sold "as-is" and "where-is". These keys perform the remote entry and alo are used by the dealer to read mileage and codes and their code reader. You may also check with Tischer BMW of Silver Spring Maryland at (888) 295-2096. They have maintained the car since 2007. The car was purchased by me at BWM of Sterling, VA. I believe the car was purchased new at BMW of Arlington, VA. I have had the car since September 2007 when it had approximately 33,000 miles. I take good care of my cars. eBay has provided an AutoCheck report which is available with this listing for your review. If you want a CARFAX or other reports, you will have to order them. I do have most of the maintenance records, but they may not be complete. Since they have my personal information on them and I need them for tax purposes, I can let you review what I have at the time of purchase, but I intend to keep them. A BMW may be able to provide you with some additional information. The winning bidder is responsible for getting the car properly titled and obtaining temporary tags.
