2000 Ford Explorer XLT, 4X4, Automatic Transmission and 4.0 liter v6 with SOHC. This is a very mechanically sound car. I beleive it has about every option ford had on the Explorer when this one came out. It has Power locks, windows, drivers and passenger seats w/lumbar. It has rear A/C and Heat with rear controls for stereo also. Am/Fm Stereo with single CD player. Overhead Temperature display, auto lights, cruise control. The 4X4 has a three setting selector switch, auto, 4X4 high and 4X4 low. Car has 4 wheel disk brakes. Mechanically everything runs very well, including A/C. Have had new tires installed (8,000 miles ago), had new passenger front axle installed, new hoses, upper and lower, new thermostat, new belt, idler pulley, new sway bar links, new ball joints and a new alternator. I have all service records available since I purchased the car in 2007. The car has average paint and interior wear for being 12 years old. The car does have some problems with the door locks on the drivers side, they don't unlock at times, but sometimes lock and unlock ok, the tailgate lock sticks sometimes too. As you can see from the photos the fender was replaced at sometime before I owned it, I am assuming it had some damage from a collision, they did a terrible job painting it, it has fish eyed as you can see from the photos and is a different tint. Also the cigarette lighter is broke through the bezel (plastic piece around stereo) but it is behind it, there are some for sale here on Ebay that I have seen. There is a problem with the emergency brake, I am not sure if the cable is broke or has just become disconnected somehow. The cruise controls on the right side of the wheel have come loose, they stay in the wheel but if you try to press on the without holding behind it it comes out, my wife and I still used it, it works ok. Drivers seat is worn through in one spot, please check photos, other seats have wear consistent with there age. The rear wiper only works sometimes, has always been like this, we have never tried using it. Car will have a fresh oil change. We also purchased all new brake rotors the end of last year, only had mechanic install front with new pads, rear was ok. We will be throwing in the rear rotors with sale.
