This is a VERY clean 2 owner car. The car was originally purchased in Colorado by a retired couple. The man was the head diesel mechanic at the local railroad here in Ely, NV. He always had some VW's and at least one was always a diesel. After he passed away I purchased the car from his estate. The engine is a rebuilt long block from Parts Place Inc. that the original owner installed a couple of years before he passed. (he was having an oil pressure problem with the original engine). The engine has less than 10,000 miles on it. The car runs perfect and starts without a problem even on the coldest days of our high desert winters. The A/C will freeze you out. Everything on this car works like new (the clock in the instrument cluster keeps perfect time! and the rear window defroster works great too). The car was never used for toting kids so the interior is very nice. The dash has had a cover on it from new so it is in top shape. The headlights have had the dealer purchased stone guards on them since new so the glass on the head lights is perfect. The windshield was replaced prior to my ownership and it in very good shape. Oil changes have been done regularly using only Bosch or Mann filters. The paint is original and is in great shape with no fading or pealing at all. There are the usual stone chips in the front and some scratches here and there. The body has NO RUST. Two substantial wounds were inflicted on the car after owner died while it was in the garage. A piece of pipe fell off the wall and gouged the drivers front fender. The swinging garage door got caught by the wind while parking the car one time and smacked the passengers rear fender (pictures included). The car has had those Oldsmobile hubcaps on it as long as I can remember. They kind of grew on me so I just left them. The car drives great. It does not pull or drift going down the road or under braking. It even has the original dealer purchased floor mats as well as the original radio which works, except for the FM band (I use a tape adapter to play my iPod. The owner's manual and radio manual with security code are with the car.). I've personally driven the car to Canada as well as on trips to Vegas and also into Utah. It does occasional daily driver service too. Gas mileage is in the 40's.
