1991 Mercedes Benz 560SEL in Arctic White with Palomino leather interior. An extremely clean, lower mileage example of the last year of the classic W126 body Mercedes. This was the flagship sedan from the 1991 Mercedes model line and one of the most classic designs ever made. This car was optioned with traction control ($1,900), which is in perfect working order. The car is in very good overall condition and the interior is just breathtaking. It was used as occasional transportation from Manhattan to a weekend house in Connecticut until being replaced with a 4Matic model and has been stored in a garage unused for the last 3 years. With very few blemishes, the car looks excellent and is in good working order. The exterior of the car is in very good condition. The paint holds a very deep shine with no signs of fading. I can see no rust on the body of the car. The only notable damage to the body is; the front right wheel well was brushed against a stanchion in a parking garage and has been given a bend (see photo) and there is shallow crease of about 8 inches on the rear left fender behind the tail light which has been slightly touched up. Aside from those areas, there are some of the usual dings and bumper indentations that come with use, however, nothing that detracts from the head turning appearance of this car. The glass and chrome are in excellent condition. The rubber and plastic trim are also in great shape, with the exception of a chip on one of the slats on the front grill. The interior is in amazing condition. The car had spent a lot of time in the garage and when not garage, it was usually in the shade. It was also not exposed to extreme temperatures. There is no damage from ultra violet exposure. This has left the leather, burl wood, and interior trim in almost perfect condition. The interior on this car shows better than cars with half the mileage. The seats retain their original give and spring and have no sag. The leather retains it's factory texture and deep, rich color. The leather is extremely soft and supple and has enough give to puff and fold when you run your hand over it, it is not tight or hard. The wood also has very deep color with no clouding or fading. There is one slight crack in the corner of the console but aside from that, it is perfect. There are no cracks in the dash. All the buttons are in excellent condition. The rear seat is heated and has power recline and is also fitted with original foot rests. There is enough room for you to cross your leg back there, even with the front seat pushed back. The carpets are also in excellent condition and free of any notable dirt or stains. A non-smoking car without any odors. The headliner is also in perfect condition. There is an aftermarket Sony stereo installed with a 10 disk CD changer in the trunk, I will be trying to locate the original but can not be certain I will find it. The only flaws to mention on the interior are; the lever below the rear view mirror has broken off and there are 2 very light and small slits on the passenger seat bottom. Mechanically speaking, the car runs very well. Before being put into storage, the car had new air cell self leveling nitrogen accumulators for the rear suspension and new brake calipers but since the car was stored for so long, I would assume it would need new brakes soon. The suspension operates as it should and at the correct height, front and rear, it is like riding on a cloud. The car has a remote door unlock installed and it is working correctly, although I never use it. I have driven the car several miles in the past few weeks and it drives very well. The tires are also in good shape. Some items that are not working correctly are; the antenna will not fully extend although it will completely retract, probably needs lubrication. The A/C is currently not blowing cold, it has been updated to 134a but when removed from storage, it was not cold and I had not looked into it further. The blower fan has a hum when adjusted to higher speeds. The rear passenger window motor is running but the window will not work all of the time. All other power controls function as they should as far as I know. Many of these cars fell into the wrong hands and were neglected from proper maintenance and service, making this one a very rare survivor. The condition of the car is extremely clean and the interior is probably one of the best that you will find at any mileage.
