Selling for no reserve. Final bid wins the car... Stunning 1974 BMW 3.0 CS coupe for sale. This is a Euro model 3.0 CS and wears the short bumpers like the 1973 US CS models and older. A very desirable option and gives the car that classic look instead of the 1974 big bumper US cars. No need for a costly bumper conversion because this one is done. Also the Euro coupes have a rear red fog next to the tail lights just like a CSI or CSL. These coupes have been appreciating quickly over the past 2 years and prices will continue to rise as the good ones become even more scarce. Originally sold and delivered to Switzerland and imported to Massachusetts by previous owner. Still wears the import metal badge with owners name in door jamb. Owned in california for the past 10 years thereafter. Car has the original 6 cylinder motor and 4 speed manual transmission. See the many pics below and video. The color is Granitrot on tan. A pretty rare coupe color and looks like kind of a garnet red in person. It has been repainted over the years and still has a great finish with lots of shine left! Car has had many improvements over the years and recent mechanical work. The interior has an been updated with an older restoration of wood, upholstery, seats, door panels, head liner, dash, rear parcel tray, carpets, and trunk carpet. The dash cover is peeling back a bit on pass side and can be re-glued. The seats are excellent with no rips or tears. Custom carpets are very nice condition and look great. What's been done recently Feb 2012: New clutch kit, clutch slave cylinder, 4 new pirelli tires, battery, fuel filter, replaced both front brake calipers, new pads, replaced fuel lines, oil change, adjust carbs. (spent over 2k total) The car runs great and starts right up. The motor and transmission are very healthy and strong. The gears shift smoothly with no grinding or issues. Brakes stop great with the new calipers and pads. Car has no ac. Vent controls are in German. Clock still works. Wipers are not working. Car has roll up manual windows and power windows not active. Missing license plate bracket for rear. Steering wheel cover has loose cover. Tool kit and jack in trunk. Some tools missing in tool kit. Odometer not working but speedometer works fine. Tach works. Fuel gauge works. Missing accelerator rubber pedal. The body and chassis are very clean with very very little rust present. Since it is a no sunroof car it has helped to preserve the body from rust corrosion over the years like sunroof cars tend to have. The rockers, floors, spare tire well and trunk floor are excellent. See the pics below. The shock towers have been sprayed over by previous owner. The factory insulation on shock towers was painted over and now the paint is cracking and is starting to flake off. It looks worse than it really is. My guess is that they were repairing some rust or trying to do some rust proof prevention. Chrome bumpers have very slight pitting. Email for more info.
