Vehicle Detail

Nicely maintained 1972 Cutlass Supreme with automatic transmission and 350 V8 Rocket engine. Original Matador Red paint with OEM White textured vinyl top, 350V8 Rocket Motor, Automatic transmission. Sounds really sweet due to the dual Magnaflow exhaust - just like classic detroit muscle cars should sound. This Cutlass has undergone an extensive overhaul this past winter. HEI distributor, carburetor rebuild, new battery, rebuilt steering column with new electrics and ignition lock, new front floor pans, new carpet and insulation underneath. Original seats received new cushions and red/white vinyl, new Pioneer stereo (installed under dash) and Clarion front speakers, new weatherstripping, new rear decklid and chrome, new heater core, coolant flush, and engine flush. Magnaflow mufflers and new dual exhaust installed in 2010 along with engine chrome (valve covers and filter cover). The new vinyl top was installed in 2010 as well. Condition: Exterior body panels are rust free. Some rust has been repaired (fiberglassed) over rear wheel wells and lower body. Rear decklid has been replaced with an OEM lid. The replacement paint matches well, but is not a factory match due to the age differences. I just installed new weatherstripping, glass is good all around with no cracks or leaks. Vinyl top is in very nice condition with no holes or tears. Paint has that original patina that can be quite appealing to owners of surviving originals. Has some fading/color variation you would expect that I have tried to show in the pics. The paint has been deeply buffed from top to bottom and has a nice gloss overall. The original 14 inch Rally wheels are installed on the car with fresh paint and all accents and center caps and beauty rings. Interior is very good. New exact fit carpet, re-upholstered seats, refreshed interior door trim and a nice fresh overall look. Original radio is not present. A delete cover has been placed over the radio location in the dash and an aftermarket Pioneer AM/FM/CD player is installed under the dash so the car can go back original if the new owner desires. The car will need a new headliner which I haven't done. It is secured up out of the way but has a hole and unravelled seam. Mechanically the car is very good. It starts right up, idles smooth. Runs and shifts smoothly. Brakes are good. Steering is crisp. Some oil weeping, but not heavy dripping or puddling. No other fluid leaks. Doesn't burn oil or smoke. It needs a new emergency brake cable which I will get ordered. I have new door lock cylinders since the previous owner never used the door keys (it stayed inside), but I haven't installed them since the car has been garaged for 2 years. The car left the factory with A/C, but it is not operational. The compressor is not present and the other components that I do have will be boxed up and supplied with the car. I can also make available to the buyer a full set of vintage 15" Cragar chrome wheels fitted to the car with very good tires (~80% tread remaining) that are shown in the last picture. I will include them with the car for any price over $5500. I will also include original Oldsmobile Chassis and Body service manuals, two boxes of hard-to-get parts that I have collected: trim clips, bulbs, lighting sockets, mechanical fittings, extra weatherstripping, wheel chrome trim rings, touch-up paint, etc. I welcome any and all questions and have done my best to describe the car as accurately as I am able. It doesn't benefit me at all for you to have any surprises when you pick it up, so please ask away before bidding. I have this car for sale off-line locally as well and reserve the right to end the auction at any time.On Apr-21-12 at 17:09:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention I installed a new Holley 600 CFM Four Barrel Street Carburetor (Model 4160)
