Vehicle Detail

I'm offering one of my T-Bird projects up for sale realizing it isn't going to get finished anytime soon. This car is a fantastic restoration project or valuable parts car. The car is registered in the Thunderbird Registry and this is what John wrote back to me when I registered it: "This is a sharp car. Supposedly, color C was not available with any black interior. So notwithstanding the leather issue, I think it would be a shame to restore it in any other color. Leather upholsterty itself was not an uncommon option, but this car is living proof that Ford would (and did) make cars that were outside of the recommended combinations in the book." Here is the link; http://www.tbirdregistry.com/viewdatasheet.asp?RegistryNumber=33970 I bought this car here on ebay a while back and had it hauled out from California to here on the east coast. The seller at that time gave me a very detailed and very accurate description of the car and I am providing you with the same so you can make an informed decision. We can't find rust free projects like this car anywhere out here. in Pennsylvania. If you want to build a nice car start with a California or high desert car and save yourself a lot of headaches and money. Rust is like cancer, it spreads and is always worse than what you can see. Years of experience in doing quality rotisserie restorations and living in Central Pennsylvania have taught me this lesson. Now for the car. It has a small area in the trunk the size of the diameter of a pencil eraser. It has a small hole in the right floor pan the size of a golf ball. That's it plain and simple. The car wears most of it's original paint (which is a turquoise color) but it's thin and well worn from the California sun. The interior is/was leather in black. It's toast from the California sun. It is spartanly equiped with power steering, power brakes, AM radio, and no power windows and no air. Normal dents for the age and years of service and overall 99.99% complete but is missing the air cleaner. The 390 4bbl ran perfectly and did not smoke, knock, or make any noises or valve/lifter noise. It fired up first time every time without any issues ever. The tranny shifted great and the fluid is clean and had good color. The car shows under 70,000 miles on the clock and is believed to be original and accurate. The engine & tranny are currently out of the car as I was going to do a simple gasket rebuild and paint the exterior and components and put new seals & modulator valve in the tranny and clean and paint before reinstalling. I will drop the assembly back in the car for transport if desired. I have a new white headliner for the car. I have new quality vinyl seat covers in black for the buckets and rear seat. I have a new quality carpet set in black. These are worth $600 alone. I have a spare set of buckets and rear seat in white that need redone but go with the car. Extra parts included but not limited to; extra driveshaft, extra radiator for an A/C car, A/C compressor, new motor mounts, new trans mount, extra brake drums, and so on. All this goes with the car and should give you a good start on the project or sell off the extra stuff to recoup some of your money. The car rolls and steers, no brakes. It must be paid in full before it's picked up. I deal only with PayPal. I will help you or your hauler load her. The car must be picked up within 15 days of purchase. No exceptions will be made to any of the aforementioned unless we speak in person and we are both in agreement with specified terms and conditions. I have no additional pics of the car but if you desire any special areas be photographed e-mail me and I will do my best to accomodate you. I have sold numerous cars abroad and overseas bidders are welcome. Container shipping is easily arranged and ports nearby are Philadelphia, Baltimore, New Jersey, and New York. Thanks for looking and look at my other auctions. I have a rare '60 T-Bird hardtop listing as well. It's a very rare car with a factory three speed tranny. Only around 1% of these cars this year were so equipped. Raven black with red and white interior. On Apr-10-12 at 07:35:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I've decided to lower both the reserve price and the buy it now price in an effort to move both of these cars by the end of this relist. I need the room and I need the money and I need them gone. Bid to win folks, you'll get the benefit of my motivation to sell. On Apr-17-12 at 05:29:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Folks, this is the last time I will be listing this car. Ebay's listing fees are getting out of hand and their Paypal fees add up to even more which means that while the seller gdoes get world-wide exposure, they also pay a premium at the time of sale. Two of my cars sold overseas last week and I have two left. If this one doesn't sell it will be off the market for good. I've set a modest reserve and will be losing money on the sale at the current reserve and or final sale price. This car is worth the money I'm asking for it, the price will not be lowered again. Bid to win and own.
